I tried ignore a year or so ago just to see what it did (after so much talk about it on the forum).

IIRC, it tries to make the ignorer* less able to see posts from the ignoree**.

But the posts from the ignoree were still there, there was just a box on top saying something like "click to read".

That seems like a pretty good way to increase curiosity and get the ignorer to click on posts by the ignoree (even though they supposedly don't want to do that).

I think that's why some posters continue to talk about how they ignore people while consistently replying to their posts.

Maybe someone who uses this function regularly can chime in on how it works (or doesn't work as the case may be).

* The person who puts another poster on their ignore list.
** The person who is put on the ignore list of the ignorer.
