Ben being gone was half the problem, the other half is that Brown is gone. Do I think JuJu is a 1A primetime WR? No. Do I think he can be very productive if he has a 1A taking attention off of him? Yes.Trolls are people too.Comment

Injuries and no Ben should keep the price tag down for juju. I think he and the Steelers will come to a deal. Lots of money coming off the books the next couple seasons. Lots of ' face of the franchise' guys are going to be gone also. I think they will feel the need to have a vet offensive player around.
Besides, he's a stand up guy, fan favorite and no other wrs are costing us much. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

It is foolish to pay ANY receiver 1A money.I agree that JuJu is likely gone after this season. We are too deep at WR. And I'm still not convinced Juju is a 1A elite wide receiver who keeps DCs up at night. I think Juju is a terrific 1B and will only mass produce if he has another WR taking the heat off of him. Does anyone here really believe Juju can consistently beat double team coverage like AB? JuJu will want 1A money especially if he has a 80-90 catch season. Would I pay him 1A money? Absolutely not. Maybe he will prove me wrong this year but I'm not holding my breath.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

This is truth. Just cycle through cheap young receivers.I think DJ and Pool-man will take a lot of coverage away from him. So he will flourish and have a big season as a beneficiary of the other two. But like you said, but he himself , I don't think DC's worry about him. So once again, after he leaves ( if he leaves) we'll invest a third round pick (or so) into another WR prospect. We seem take one every year anyway.sigpic

Nah, he will just need a reasonable threat on the other side. He will be fine with the growth of the young guys.sigpic

I see Juju & Johnson as the two guys who will carry our passing attack. I see Claypool as our big play guy..much in the way Mike Wallace was his rookie season. But I think Claypool will be a better overall WR then Wallace down the line. Able to run the entire route tree next season.Comment

Nah, got to be fake news. I mean, Ben working out with receivers? We all know that all he does is golf and drink beer when it's offseason. That workout warrior Glazer told us so, and he'd never lie to us.Comment

and if only Ben studied more film and was a better leader like Peyton...Comment

Wallace was a one trick pony (deep) but he was pretty good at it. Claypool will be much more than that, but hopefully also be able to go deep. We know he will be a good endzone target. And with his size, he should be physical enough to handle the middle, at least some. If Claypool establishes himself as a deep threat, it will open up down and outs a lot, especially when needed most like on 3rd downs.I see Juju & Johnson as the two guys who will carry our passing attack. I agree with both Whisper & RDS. I'm looking to see some real excitement from our aerial game. Lot of weapons. Pool and the two TE's should be deadly in the red zone. Which in turn should help our run game.Wallace was a one trick pony (deep) but he was pretty good at it. Claypool will be much more than that, but hopefully also be able to go deep. OL has to hold up for this to happen. Guys are another year older, Decastro has had shaky stretches, Villeneuve is prone to struggle against speed, and don't get me started on Pouncey's random snaps in every direction.Comment

totally agree......my whole statement was based on the assumption the O-line plays well. I've been most concerned about that O-line all off-season. And if the O-line doesn't play well, then the offense is sabotaged.Comment

I would compare Claypool more to the way Bryant was in his rookie year, we caught a glimpse of what Ben could do with a receiver with that combo of size and speed.I see Juju & Johnson as the two guys who will carry our passing attack.
