The guy isn't making a specific statement about what Ben is currently doing, he is making a general statement about the way that he typically is. We already know all that.

Even if it's true - I seriously doubt that comes as any surprise to anyone. Ben has never been known as a workout fiend. He even admitted recently he doesn't work out in the off season.

Yea, I've never had a problem with it, he gets the sh-- beat out of him for 16-18 weeks. He's played with mad injuries. It's only May.

If Ben can’t lose the weight the Steelers could always use him for depth along the offensive line.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Really? After the BA years Ben hasn’t been sacked as often.

I think it’s possible to work out some in the offseason to improve your game when you are paid handsomely.

Might be part of the reason we start slow and see ugly Ben a few more times each year.

Never understood how Ben could admit he doesn’t work out in the summer and people have the nerve to say we wasted his best years.

I have some mixed feelings. Working out is not like a savings account: what you do in July does not carry over to Sept. It doesn't work that way - as far as your shape. Now, allowing yourself to get 30 LBs overweight doesn't help things come camp. You'd like to see players to show up with some modicum of fitness level so they aren't starting behind the 8 ball.

probably be another report out today or tomorrow telling how he's been working out and watching his diet and is in the best shape he's ever been in

I don’t care as long as he is prepared whenever the season starts. He’s a vet and knows the work that he needs to put in to get his body ready.

when I talk of working out I’m not talking lifting and diet.

Ben has admitted he doesn’t throw the ball at all during the offseason.

I would prefer to hear ahem say he works on footwork, mechanics, etc.

While we all hate Brady the dude got kicked out of a park for working out in Florida.

I think once you get older you can’t chill all summer and the turn it on come camp. This is why I think our first 4 games look sluggish.

just a theory. Ben might be lying about not working out. Who knows what to believe.

but how many times have we complained about our O being out of sync the first 4 games?

usually we complain about a game we should’ve one that hurts us come playoff time.

For as much as we pay him I would like for him to come in throwing darts (not this year, I know he is injured) but other years when he didn’t take reps in preseason and used the first few games to get primed.

I blame the sluggish starts on Tomlin, Mr. Cool Shades.

IMO being out of sync early is an entirely different story. The starters hardly play in the preseason. No wonder it takes a month to get on track. (And this is not a slam on Tomlin. It is what it is)
