Draft rewind trade for pick 48

I was just looking at some what if scenerios... (I usually hate these, but I am procrastinating into cleaning up after painting.)

Seattle traded right before us with the Jets to land draft pick # 48, they trade pick #59 +#101.

    Seattle took DE Darrell Taylor

Jets took #59 Mims and at 101 traded that pick NE ( 2 4th rounders... pick #125 + #129) who took TE Dalton Keene.

Jets at # 125 took QB James Morgan,
Jets at # 129 took OT Clark ( Charlotte)

notibale players- K'Von Wallace, ILB Dye there are others to

So what if we took that trade:

    #48 jets -Mims
#49 (trade to seattle) Darelle Taylor
    #50 Bears-Jaylon Johnson CB
    51 Cowboys - Diggs CB
    52 Rams - Akers
    53 Philly-Hurts
    54 Bills- Epenesa
    55 Ravens-Dobbins
    56 Dolphins-Davis
    57-Rams- Van Jefferson WR
    58-Vikings-Cleveland ot
59- ( if traded back) Claypool

I think Claypool would of been gone by pick 59... Rams took Van Jefferson WR, and Philly took 100 WR in this draft!

but what if we did the trade and all our players we selected fell to us:

    59-Claypool
    101-trade back for 125+129
( players available at 101 besides RB, G-Fotu, Bartch, Charles OT, A-O, Eason)
    102 Highsmith
    124 McFarland
    125 K' Wallace S
    129 Dye ILB
    135 Dotson
    Brooks
    Davis

now that would of been icing on the cake!

I was all for trading back you all know that but Seattle moved up ahead of us for Taylor. IMO they had to believe Taylor was high on our radar as I know there was some talk of him going to us. To me Taylor was more of a 3rd rounder who Seattle would have gotten if they stayed where they were n just waited.
Would Claypool have dropped all that way down? IDK but with a big trade back move like that it's the gamble you take. If Claypool is gone is Dobbins plus a 4th rounder as good? Maybe that's the chance you sometimes take.
I was hoping for a move back in the 3rd where I still believe we could have gotten Highsmith a half dozen picks later and gotten a 5th rounder which we didn't have and really needed.

If this wasn't Roethlisberger's twilight season I am guessing the Steelers draft would have looked at whole lot different. Likely go heavy on defense and hope to shut opponents down.
This whole virus thing also probably played a part, thinking almost all their picks would not contribute this season (exc. Claypool). If it really ends up a lost season for this draft class I think it very much works in the Steelers favor since most of these guys need a couple of seasons to develop.

Or, how about this scenario...The Jets traded back and chose Mims.

Denzel Mims is 6' 3", 207lbs, and ran a 4.38. Big and fast. Although lighter, sounds like someone who the Steelers drafted. Mims was originally considered to be closer to the top of the WR market, so doubtful that a team would trade back thinking that they could still land him. So, perhaps the Jets traded back hoping to land a big, fast WR but ended up landing their second choice.

Maybe this happened, maybe it didn't. I'm just saying that for those who state like it's a fact that the team could have dropped down 5, 10, 15 spots and still landed their target have no idea what was going on in each of the 32 teams' war rooms.

Do you mean us choosing Mims?
You know I thought he was suppose to go 1st round way before Regalor, and Hamler. I wonder why he dropped so much...

I'm saying that it is possible that the Jets dropped down thinking that they would still get Claypool. Once the Steelers took him they ended up taking the other big, fast receiver. Now, of course none of us know because we don't have access to 32 teams' draft boards. It is just a ridiculous stance to take that people seem to make that a team can drop down in the draft and would automatically get the guy they drafted because the mock drafts didn't have him going so high. We all just have no idea.

About why we didn't take Mims, why did he drop so much, he was suppose to be ranked closer to the top 5 WR, rather than the top 10 WR.
