Flucco somehow won a ring...that run was so improbable but, come those playoffs, he just went off. But, I'd have zero confidence in him as our backup. None.

      Maybe we're selling Mason short.

I think he can be good, and I think he is a good option to keep developing as the future starter.

But I also think he was making progress early in the year, and then he took a step or two backwards after getting knocked out. I'm concerned about if he will recover from that or be gun shy going forward, and it would be nice to have another decent option to turn to if needed for 2020.

I'm gonna come to the defense of RUDOLPH here.

We watched BEN struggle thru 6 quarters to start the season - the Steelers played virtually w/out a TE all season.
JuJu was NOT ready for #1 and there was no consistency in the Steelers Running Game.

MR took a brutal shot and never fully recovered.

I think he showed some signs worthy of serious consideration going into Yr. 3

Would I ride the entire franchise on him at this point? No!
Would bringing in Blake Bortles be of my interest? Not at all.

I think people need to take into account that Rudolph was the #3 qb his rookie season. That means he didn't get a lot of reps in practice. Essentially this past year was his first developmental year in regards to actually playing with the guys who will actually be on the field. Next year he'll make a jump in his development and if he is asked to play, he'll be substantially better than he was last year. Also, Lynch has a very real possibility of developing into a starter.

Lynch, a starter? If you mean a horrible starter, possibly.

I do wanna see what Rudolph can do given another chance. He looked like a potential franchise QB pre-injury. But it could also have been D coordinators had enough tape to see his weaknesses and he was not able to adjust his game. That could spell his doom.

Rudolph is full of question marks after last year. If those questions are answered the way we would like to see, then he could be an NFL QB. If not, then he won't be. I think it's that simple. Still so many "what ifs?" after last year.

Lynch is going to get cut unless he has practice squad eligibility...

I agree about Rudolph. I'm not going to be down on him because of a season where everything went wrong on offense.

I remember reading somewhere that Lynch did something in practice and one of the defensive starters said something to Tomlin because he was surprised how strong his arm was and Tomlin responded to the effect of "there's a reason he was a first rounder". Dude has the tools, he just wasn't prepared to be a starter. Denver likes to rush developmental qb's.

I can see Lynch staying over Duck. But I’m not losing sleep over either one of them flippen burgers when the season starts. No disrespect intended flippy.
