I don't get your argument here.
You say that he listed 4 needs that the Steelers have.
Then, they pick a player who doesn't play any of those positions.
And you say that's evidence that they draft for need over BPA?
It seems to me that drafting a player outside of your biggest needs is evidence that you went BPA. Don't you think? Although I tend to disagree with Ovidios needs list because I think LB was more of a want than a need (and that RB wasn't really either...more of a nice to have).
IMO, our biggest need was probably DT, and we barely addressed that in the draft at all.
Note: Like all teams, the Steelers draft for some combination of need & BPA. I think we tend to see better players when we pick BPA over need and that we should do that all the time because every position is always one play away from being a need given the violence of the sport. But maybe that's me rationalizing why guys like Burns don't work out when all draft picks are a crap shoot anyway.
