    Maybe the Steelers know

That there's not going to be a season this year and that's why they are drafting the way they are.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

It could play out that way.

They would have to think there won't be a season for years for that to make sense; most draft picks are for the future, so blowing a draft like this would hurt 2021 more than 2020. So, that excuse doesn't cut it (I know you said it tongue and cheek.)

I love the way they're drafting...I like every pick so far

That's your prerogative. Hopefully we will be alive, and the world won't be too altered, to revisit the subject in 2 years or so. The Claypool pick I can live with, Highsmith, McFarland, Dotson, not so much.

Highsmith is an admitted project. Super.
McFarland has red flags abound - bad character, can't rush between the tackles, injuries, can't pass pro, got few touches in MD.
Dotson is listed as only a backup by scouts.

Compare the Steelers' draft to Balt. It's not even close.

Look a little further into Dotson.

Word is dobbins needs to learn pass pro as well.
              better with a 4th rounder then a 2nd rounder

I’m reading the character issue is BS. From beat writers he talked highly of Matt Canada who was there and TOMLIn son plays there.
mid it was something credible, they would have heard.

regardless, it was a pick in the 4th round. Not much of a gamble as a low character guy drafted high

I wouldn't think it would be...Ravens had all kind of picks, high picks...And we have a top 5 player in this years draft imo in Minkah

Ravens defense is going to be a problem. There is nothing that they’ve done this off-season to say their defense will regress; and all the evidence in the world to suggest their defense went up at least a notch.

no worries, Lamar Jackson is going to suck even worse than he did last season so we have nothing to worry about

Me too. Especially if you think of Minkah as our first rounder. It seems like so many fans had it in their mind not only what positions the team should take, but also the player. If you get away from that and just look at the players for who they are, it looks mighty good from my end.
