I know a lot don't like Madden and I get it: He does whine just to get clicks.

But he sometimes has legit points. Does he here, or just more moaning just to b--tch?

Madden is wrong on this. I mean, if Wisniewski wins the LG job outright, and is the best player at that position, then sure, he ought to be the starter. But I'm not convinced he will, and I don't think the Steelers ought to just hand him the job because of his (in Madden's mind) illustrious past. Get the battle on, and let the best man have top spot at the position.

Yes, that all sounds good as you guys say, but what Madden is saying, is that Wiz will be the better player but the Steelers are obsessed with the guy who can play the 3 IOL spots on the bench. He said Foster was pure rubbish last year but still stayed as the starter and Wiz will likely be the best LG on the team but won't get to start unless there is an injury. That's what he asserted. <shrugs shoulders>

I read that earlier, was starting to think that as well the Trib and Gaz beat writers have gone soft. They have become stale and no insight. They just report what we already know or heard from another source.

He does have some valid points, I think we already discused here.

They will not play their back up Center until they are forced to, just like they won't play their back up LT. They value those positions and want to safe guard them. I honestly believe that they would of kept the Rams game lineup on going if 1) they had a vet QB in, Foster was unheard of captain of that OL 2) they were not worried about not having a back up LT (OKA) on roster.

He goes on with some BS saying Winieski is better that OKA and Banner

Which is complete BS... I think Feiler would be even better lined up next to Pouncey, rather next on the outside of DD. Would make that middle of the OL nasty.

He’s right about Finny being better than Foster. Great team guy but Foster retired a year late.

It doesn't make any sense to not put your best 5 out there in fear of injury.
Unless the 2 are so close.
