Appalachian St Rb Darrynton Evans had some type of interview. Small framed back 5 10 199 with good straight line speed 4.41 not much wiggle. Returner 5th back special team type who will have to get bigger for the next level but could make the team if he excels on special teams. . Catches the ball ok but I didn't see him block at all. Late rounder who would have a legit shot to stick.

Those are bargain bin backs. I'm not thrilled they are going that low to fill RB need. That will prove to be a mistake, once Conner goes down.

Depot had some write up on Steelers draft metrics for RBs. The cutoff for weight at draft was 205 lbs. I think. Evans needs to grab himself a few cheeseburgers.

Agreed.
Either draft a bell cow or don't draft a rb at all.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?
Agreed.

Just take a RB with legit upside. Conner won't be healthy for long, if he even makes the opener. If they don't realize that, they need to have their heads examined. We know Samuels isn't a true RB, so that leaves us with only Snell, who is more of a backup. For a team that supposedly values the rushing game, they got one of the weakest running back units in the entire NFL. THIS TEAM WAS 29TH IN RUSHING IN THE NFL! And they are looking at 7th round RBs???????????? Wake the F up!
They need a running back more than a crack whore needs a rock.

You have to do your "due diligence" on all positions. In the event the highly rated backs come off the board early you got to know what's out there or not out there.
I understand wanting to add a quality back to the team. If it doesn't happen early sometimes you find a "Willie Parker " later on.
Steelers signed WR Saeed Blacknall, formerly of the XFL.
Blacknall was most recently seen catching passes from Josh Johnson as a member of the Los Angeles Wildcats in the XFL. Per Wikipedia, his nickname is "Megatron, Jr." Look for Blacknall to be on the roster bubble at best come August.
