I think he showed me enough until the injuries. I think he came back too quick.

Don’t get me wrong, MR was frustrating as hell to watch but Fitchner was keeping us in games and MR wasn’t turning the ball over at a high rate. It was ugly but pretty effective given all the injuries.

If Ben can't go, it means we need to ride with Mason and see what he has for sure, or bring in a stopgap FA (Bridgewater, Mariota, etc) to let our defense try and win a Super Bowl if we can afford it. Ben' s cap hit will be an anchor dragging the team down though.

Best bet is to reset, reshuffle salaries for the future, then ride with Mason and either he develops or they draft early in 2021 to get a new QB to pair with an excellent but expensive defense - which is actually a great way to win in this era of the NFL.

We have to be ready for a down swing before we can move forward. That's just the way the league works in most cases.

Absolutely. The Steelers are a franchise QB away from being a real contender. Any player who helps us win I would welcome including Brady.

I can't stomach that thought. I don't want to be "saved" by this guy. I generally hate the idea of bringing in a big name QB - who was the face of another franchise - for one last hurrah. But Brady is at the bottom of my list. He just really annoys me.

A journeyman-type like Foles or Fitzmagic, I'd be OK making a short-term push for a ring with.

I can’t see Ben and Brady on the same sideline. You rarely see something like that where 2 HOFers are on the same roster.

                  It ain’t happening.

I would suggest a Fitz or even a Jameis if available. I don’t think we can afford Bridgewater.

I doubt we could win a SB with a journeyman like McNown but I know how this league works.

more than likely we stick with Mason and either he turns the corner or we crash and burn next year and try to get a QB early with a high pick.

                    Keep dreaming guys.

Let me clue you in; THERE IS NO CAP AVAILABLE TO BRING IN THE VETERANS THAT ARE WORTH ANYTHING.

                      Lol...no kidding.
I see, " bring in Brady, Bell, Bridgewater, Henry rb, Henry te, Fitzpatrick and the Tampa QB along with signing Bud, Hargrave, Hilton and a couple olineman.
Best case scenario is our defense is slightly worse next year. Best case
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

My OP was more hypothetical. WOULD you be OK with it, if it could be done?

Regarding 2 HOF'ers on the same sideline, in my hypothetical, I'm already assuming that Ben retires, after getting news that his arm is toast.

                        So, retire Ben. Hire Marcia.

                        I would hate it.

if Ben is gone I wouldn’t care as much but it would be hard. I really don’t like that guy but once he had in our jersey I’m going to root for him.

Can't stomach Brady. I just can't. Can't stand his "used car salesman" smile.

Again, no cap to bring in another QB worth a darn... even if Roethlisberger retires the cap hit is too large to fit anyone else in.
