    I get that he wants his people in place but I still think it’s a bad idea to fire a HC who isn’t working with a franchise QB due to injury.

      I think the Panthers fired Riviera because the current state of the team is pointing towards a rebuild. The Offense is bad, the defense is bad, the franchise QB is pretty much out the door, there is a new ownership group who wants to bring in their guys. I wouldn't even say the Panthers have underachieved, they were just in the Superbowl in 2015, they won the AFC south 3 times and made the playoff 4 times under Riviera, I'm not sure what the expectations were for the Panthers under Riviera but i don't think anyone expected them to dominate.
