    Hodges Has the Pedigree

Just a few of the undrafted QBs that had good to great careers in the NFL:

    Warren Moon
    Kurt Warner
    Dave Krieg
Jeff Garcia (stature wise very much like Hodges)
    Tony Romo
    Jake DelHomme
    Jim Hart
Jon Kitna - gave Steelers fits in a few games
    Erik Kramer
Mike Tomczak - we know what he did for the Steelers
    Jim Zorn
    Jay Fiedler

If Hodges is even close to a few of those in performance, the Steelers have at least a decent starter/solid backup for a long time.

I don't think our guy is on the roster right now. We need to start to seriously formulate a plan to find a QB of the future. Of course we will go with Hodges the rest of the way but it's best to have a plan in place going forward to upgrade the position.

We also have a first round QB on the roster that no one ever talks about. At least, not yet.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

have you ever seen him play at the pro level? Lynch is not very good, and that's an understatement...

Yeah but if Duck sucks we’ll start hearing the name Paxton Lynch being thrown around Steelers Nation.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

There is a reason no one talks about Lynch.

The problem is there are 32 teams drafting and the QB classes have been just average the past few years, and the foreseeable future looks to be the same.

Yes. I laugh when I read the Steelers need to have a plan for the QB of the future when everyone knows drafting a franchise QB is a crapshoot.

So the plan is to get lucky in the draft?!?

I think Duck is the future. I've just been patiently waiting for his chance.

Ive seen stranger things happen. What a great story if it ended up coming to pass!

Why is that list part of Duck's pedigree, i'm sure the list of undrafted QB's who didn't have decent NFL careers is much longer. Let's give him a chance to get us through the next couple of games before we start setting the expectations for his career.

I'm always hopeful for the best but in Duck's case I'm not expecting it.

The title of the thread is "Hodges has the Pedigree", followed by a list of accomplished QB's.
