The drops and the fumbles don't help, but Rudolph is struggling reading defenses and his pocket presence is terrible. I can understand the reading defenses because he is young and that will improve with reps but his pocket presence is worrisome.

But their games are completely different.

            Mason is frustrating to watch.

Ben was exciting to watch his rookie year.

Don’t get me wrong, the whole offense is trash this year. It’s just hard watching some of these safety’s and bad plays in close games.

I think Rudolph has a futre as a nice backup QB. But there's nothing to suggest he'll be more than that at this point. you wanna compare to Ben's rookie year. Ok. But, Ben showed 2 things that Mason will never have; mobility and arm strength. No amount of coaching or experience will change those two things. If he really gets great at reading defenses, and improves his accuracy, he could be ok. But not someone you build your team around, again, at least at this point

its just like conner's pass blocking his rookie year... it can improve.. MR is a long way from being a finished product. Im not ready to write him off yet

there are no comparisons to what Ben looked like and watching this now

                  the entire premise is ludicrous

Pretty tough to avoid this weeks safety when DeCastro decides to take off a play

The mobility and arm strength are debatable.. hes shown capable of making the throws theyve asked him to make.. unfortunately with the game plan as it is.. J Samuels has been his top target. The offensive scheme has also allowed teams to load up the box and bring pressure...

Id be willing to revisit this once they start stretching the field vertically. For now.. they are content to protect MR from himself and ask the defense to win games for them.. much like they did with ben his rookie year

I suspect that we’re soon gonna be in that same Steelers QB era that existed in between Bradshaw’s retirement in 1983 and the drafting of Ben in 2004. Rudolph is like Mark Malone or Bubby Brister at this point when it comes to being our next man up franchise QB.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Neither are debatable. He can't run and his passes have no zip whatsoever. Maybe the velocity and distance can somewhat be chalked up to a confidence issue, but you can't seriously watch him play and say 'wow, this dude has a big arm and can scramble around pretty good.' Maybe he'll be the next Peyton Manning

Ben had a stud defense and a solid running game IIRC,
Also didnt have a pass happy OC...LOL

Ben and mason are 2 totally different QBs

there isn't any debate at all who had better mobility and arm strength
