These are the ones I like best of what I listen to (broken into categories in no particular order). I'd love to hear about things others are interested in too.

    Steelers
Terrible Podcast (have been listening for 4 years or so, best one I've found)
Locked on Steelers (have been listening since this off season. Not as good as Terrible IMO, but daily)

    Money / Self Improvement
The Tim Ferriss Show (also good long form, usually focused on habits of high achievers)
Planet Money (great stories about how the economy works...at least from the view of economists)
The Indicator by Planet Money (a spinoff from above)
Canadian Couch Potato (He's not doing shows anymore, but good stuff on index investing generally)

Stacking Benjamins (good banter on general personal finance topics)
    Afford Anything

    Health and Wellness
    Peter Attia Drive
    Found my Fitness
(both awesome IMO, but can get pretty deep in the weeds re: medical science / biochem)

    Science and General Interest

    Radio Lab
    Freakonimics Radio
    TED Radio Hour
Tell Me Something I don't Know
    Reply All

    History / Politics
    Hardcore History (Dan Carlin)
Common Sense (Dan Carlin, sadly doesn't do it anymore. Was a refreshing voice amid partisan ideologues IMO)
    The Pirate History Podcast
More Perfect (Radio Lab spin Off about the SCOTUS. Interesting for me who moved here from Canada)
Business Wars (depends on what the "war" is. Loved Sony vs. Nintendo & Netflix vs Blockbuster vs HBO)
Making Sense (hard to classify this one, sometimes politics, sometimes science, sometimes self improvement)

    True Crime
Serial (season 1 is best, then 3 I think, then 2).
Up and Vanished (first season is amazing, but production quality is bad for the first 1/3 of the season or so)
To Live and Die in LA
    Culpable
    The Clearing
Crimetown USA (season 1 is the best one here)

    With my Kids
Wow in the World (with Guy Ras from TED. Entertaining for kids, with cool science info most of the time)
    Brains On

    But Why
    Every Little Thing

Thanks for the list. I end up listening to a lot of finance/investing/business podcasts. Sometimes sports depending on the topic. And then I just like listening to quirky, smart, funny people. I'll do a lot of comedians or TED talks or the Freakenomics theories.

I listed to Stern on Sirius.

I bounce around a lot. Heck, I'll even listen to NPR or Clark Howard on the radio in the car sometimes.

My point was more that if I'm going to listen to someone for a couple hours, I can usually only do that with Stern or Rogan.

But if I want to disengage and get lost in my own thoughts, it's 80s pop music for me. I used to hate that style of music as a kid, but as I get older, I appreciate the simple poppy song and a lot of the angst in music no longer resonates with me.

I don't like Cowherd personally, I think he is a contrarian for ratings sake but he does have some points for sure, especially compared to a lot in the sports media.

I believe the term he uses to describe the tomlin led steelers is Unbuttoned.

        which sounds 100% accurate

No problem. I just copied it from another message board I'm on where people were talking about podcasts they listen to (with a couple updates because the other post was 1+ years old).

Was Todd Haley there for that meeting? Although maybe his more "hard nosed" approach with Ben is why he got fired.

I actually didn't know Haley was in his coaching tree. Your post just made me curious so I looked it up.

And there was our boy Todd. I thought that was funny so I decided to post it. Then it made me think that maybe part of the reason Ben didn't like him could have been that he would push Ben and not treat him as differently as he may have wanted to be treated. Although he then went to the Browns and lost that job pretty quickly for a lack of interpersonal skills, so who knows.

Either way, I thought Haley was a pretty good OC for us (although we did have issues in the red zone).

I argued for keeping him too, since his O was pretty successful and I don't think he was the reason we didn't do QB sneaks.

The other thing that this discussion made me think about this morning was:

"Oh ****, I don't think we have a QB coach!"

I thought it was stupid that we didn't hire a QB coach when we promoted Fichtner. We had 2 young QBs at the time and I thought we should have a position coach for the group even though the starter has lots of years under his belt.

I think we still don't have a QB coach (google says it's still Fichtner, which I think is true but I think we should get a dedicated guy now that we have a young QB).

alternative facts... he sucked! (Well, IMO, anyway)
Went to a couple of SB under Arians as OC - never made it back with TH.
Shoot, he was the only guy who was able to stop the Ben-Mike Wallace connection.
The horrible playoff run started with TH took over calling plays and the offense was just boring and predictable.

I thought BA had good O's...except he was getting Ben killed.

That's one of the reasons that I was surprised when they let Landry Jones go. I didn't think it was a mistake at the time as a player, but having a veteran eye to talk with would be beneficial for Ben.

Arians took the 20th ranked offense to the SB.....If you win 14-7 it ain’t because of a genius OC, it is because your NUMBER ONE defense stopped the other guys.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

In 2008, we scored 16 offensive points in the AFCCG, and 20 offensive points in the SB.
Not only did our defense limit scoring, all three playoff games featured a non-offense TD by our team.

Ben had not one but TWO THREE GAME playoff runs that ended in the SB with Arians.

Ben played ONE GAME under Fichtner.....in that ONE GAME he threw more TD’s than in any multi-game playoff run with Arians or Haley.

Not saying by any means the current OC is any good.....just highlighting the folly of crediting Arians for our SB success.

Given the 2008 or 2010 defense and we DESTROY the Jags that year.

Cowherd had some interesting points here why the Steelers are all in this season.
