Notice the contrast Cowherd makes between the Browns and the Steelers/Ravens

It is the second topic, start at minute 2.

He contrasts terrible Browns ownership and superior Raven and Steeler ownership.

    The difference....WE DONT PANIC.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

What does year 2 Browns QB Baker Mayfield and 50 years....HALF A CENTURY of Steelers teams have in common?

Key to why we have so different levels of success.

I can’t stand Cowhered but he is correct.

For the life of me I didn’t understand why the Browns didn’t keep Gregg Williams and keep Kitchens at OC.

      But.. it’s what they do.

Cowherd also routinely criticizes Tomlin for sloppy play from the Steelers and poor gameplanning. He isn't wrong there either.

He also really dislikes Baker Mayfield and seems to be sticking by that in regards to his Browns criticisms.

I don't like Cowherd personally, I think he is a contrarian for ratings sake but he does have some points for sure, especially compared to a lot in the sports media.

Cowherd makes some valid points but please keep in mind that Mayfield has blocked Cowherd on twitter along with some other fox sports talking heads . So they do have an axe to grind with him.

Cowherd has grown on me . . . He's been right on a lot of things.
            Gotta give him credit.

              ...like a fungus, maybe.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Cowherd is like Skip Bayless. They say a ton of contrarian things and sometimes it comes true. It has too.. no one is wrong all the time ..except for SM.

Dude can’t even follow a “let’s not name call” pact he created. Lmao.

I agree that the Mayfield thing shows that he's all about confirmation bias.

Talking heads talk. Sometimes people agree with them, other times they don't.

Their job is supposed to be about generating add revenue, not being right about football.

And Howard Stern taught everyone that listenership goes up when people hate you. I wonder how much of our media landscape is shaped by the success of the Howard Stern show?

I LOVE the Howard Stern Show. Listen to it every damn day.

I HATE the Colin Cowherd, Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe, Mark Madden schtick. Never watch or listen to any of them.

I used to listen to talk radio and mostly dislike it.

Now I listen to podcasts and mostly love it.

You can pick whatever topic you like. There are way fewer commercials. They don't have to repeat the same information every 10 - 20 minutes. It's free. I can download it on my phone so I don't need data (I love my $3/month cell phone bill).

I listen to Stern via the Sirius Radio app on my phone. No commercials there either (unless you are listening live...I'm usually an hour or two behind the live feed, so I the option to skip that stuff). I can put on my headphones at work and listen while I'm on the computer, but then if the phone rings, I can just pause it on the app and take care of that then start again for the same spot later. It's great.

I like Howard Stern and Joe Rogan and know I'm going to enjoy them no matter who they're interviewing. Other than that, I'll tend to go where I like the topic or interviewee, but most other interviewers drive me insane because they don't go deep enough with their questions.

Any good podcasts that you like/recommend?

The one other I sometimes like is Chris Jericho when he interviews some old wrestler that I liked when I was a kid. It's a really cool dynamic imho because it's a behind the scenes look into a time when there wasn't behind the scene access to everything. Something about his podcasts with old wrestlers makes me feel like I'm listening to Brittany Spears and singing along. I hope no one is paying attention and I'll never admit to it as a guilty pleasure, but I dig it.

I also really like Rogan for the long form Interviews / entertainment value (but I don't really listen to Stern...didn't realize he had a podcast). Maybe I'd like it.). I don't really listen to the MMA Shows though.

These are the ones I like best of what I listen to (broken into categories in no particular order). I'd love to hear about things others are interested in too.

Terrible Podcast (have been listening for 4 years or so, best one I've found)
Locked on Steelers (have been listening since this off season. Not as good as Terrible IMO, but daily)

The Tim Ferriss Show (also good long form, usually focused on habits of high achievers)

The Indicator by Planet Money (a spinoff from above)
Canadian Couch Potato (He's not doing shows anymore, but good stuff on index investing generally)
Stacking Benjamins (good banter on general personal finance topics)
