Bengals @ Steelers; Who you got and why?

Okay, I admit that I'm shook. Because never in my wildest dreams could i have imagined that we'd get 5 turnovers in a game and still lose the game in a kinda convincing fashion. To me, we've reached a new low because of that.

With that said, If Rudolph can look a little better passing and take advantage of the Bengals secondary, I think we can pull out a 23-20 win.

    What say you?

Steelers, but it's probably close maybe 24 - 21 or something.

    1. Bengals are bad
    2. We are too, but we're at home!
    3. Mason will continue to improve after learning from a rough game in SF.
    4. Fitz will have a whole week to practice and teh D will improve

I don't think we're going to make it to 500, but I don't think we go without a win either.

This is a game we can win and I think we give the home crowd something to cheer about.

Well, 2 bad teams facing off for the battle of the basement.
Oddly, both teams have 2 common opponents so far.
Bengals played the Seahawks tougher than us.
Steelers played the 49er's tougher than the Bengals. If it wasn't for the 5 fluke turnovers, they probably would have rolled us as bad as they did the Bengals.
Bengals played a 2-0 Bills team tough
We got destroyed by the Pats.
Obviously the Bills aren't as good as the Pats
Bengals defense is slightly better than ours in yards allowed 406-442 and slightly better in points allowed. 27.7-28.3
Bengals offense is better than ours by a lot in yards 350-269 , a little in points scored. 18-16.3
Bengals pass for more than 100 yards per game compare to the Steelers. 308-205
Steelers rush for 20 more yards per game. 64-42
So if you take into account that the steelers played a better team(Pats) than the Bengals did(Bills), you can maybe flip a few yards and points the Steelers way.
All that being said, both teams suck and it would not surprise me if either team blew each other out.
The one stat that does concern me is Bengals ability to throw the ball much better than us. We both cant run.
I will however take the Steelers to win based on better talent, being home and seeing that they will win between 4-7 games this year, this is as good as a chance as any on our schedule.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

This is one of the few games that I expect us to win this year. That being said, the Bengals usually give us a tougher time in Pittsburgh than they do on their home field, for whatever reason.

24 - 17 Steelers. But...I am fully prepared to be disappointed once again. If the Offense cannot sustain drives, the Defense can not (and will not) hold up.

It will be close, but I don’t see our issues getting sorted out. Bengals get late score to win, and we probably have some turnover that kills us.

Honestly, this is a matchup that would have me tuning to netflix for some dogmeat B flick to pass my time if it wasn't the Steelers. Only hardcore football fans will be tuned in to watch two 0-3 teams bludgeon each other into submission. Or they may watch out of morbid curiosity to see a Roethlisbergerless Steelers team of the future.

... but.... I like our chances....

who the hell knows? the way the Steelers have been playing they can easily get blown out. On the other hand, with all these #1's on defense - it's entirely possible they shut down dalton and we squeak out a 13-10 win. I hope to see mason shake off the first game jitters and put together a clinic that gives us hope for the rest of the season. My heart thinks 28-10 steelers.

but if I had to predict based on the last 10 games, 24-21 bengals with the defense giving up a drive for a TD with time expiring.

or to sum up - I have no idea. this team has no identity nor consistency, so it's impossible to predict.

Cam Heyward: We have to be perfect in everything we do

Posted by Josh Alper on September 25, 2019, 9:22 AM EDT

Defensive end Cam Heyward knows what the Steelers can’t do after starting the season with three straight losses.

Heyward said there have been “mistakes everywhere” in those losses, so no one should be pointing fingers of blame for what’s gone wrong. If anyone does go that route, Heyward said he’ll “break their finger” but he’d prefer everyone just focus on what’s ahead of them against the Bengals rather than what’s happened in the past.

“We just have to get this ‘W’,” Heyward said, via the team’s website. “That”s all it comes down to. I don’t care how it gets done, it has to get done. Our execution has to be flawless from here on out. Our room for error is out the window. We have to be perfect in everything we do, especially in practice. It’s my job to keep us accountable. It’s my job to keep guys ready for the opportunity. Both teams are 0-3 but one team is going to be 1-3 after this game.”

The game against the Bengals takes place at the same time that the Browns play the Ravens in the first set of divisional games for all the AFC North teams. The Steelers will move on to face Baltimore the next week and Heyward says “the road is right in front of us” to turn things in a better direction after a dismal start to the year.

                          https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/09/25/cam-heyward-we-have-to-be-perfect-in-everything-we-do/
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Our new TE, Vannett scores his first TD of the season (take that Seattle!)
Switzer takes a punt return to the house (take that Diante Spencer!)
Fitzpatrick gets a pick-6 (take that Miami and your mid-round first pick!)
Rudolph ignores the game plan and throws passes farther than 5 yards downfield (take that Fichtner!)
