Tom-Brady-complains-officiating-Jacksonville-Jaguars-Tennessee-Titans-Thursday-Night-Football
Ever hear the phrase, "Right message, wrong messenger?"
It certainly came to mind Thursday night when, while watching the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (https://247sports.com/Player/Tom-Brady-76179) — of all people! — complained about the officiating.

Of course, Brady's tweets immediately set opposing fan Twitter aflame. From the gif of Star Wars' Senator Palpatine simply saying, "Ironic," to several videos of the whisper-soft roughing the passer penalty called on the Kansas City Chiefs' Chris Jones in the AFC Championship Game when he touched Brady in the chest, many seemed to take issue with one of the NFL's more protected players' apparent hypocrisy.
After all, it was just this week when the Miami Dolphins' Raekwon McMillan (https://247sports.com/Player/Raekwon-McMillan-17772) said he was told by referees to stay off Brady after a legal hit, lest he get penalized.

Raekwon McMillan told me when he hit Brady on Sunday - a perfectly legit hit - the referee told him "Stay off Tom." NFL still protecting those QBs amid several early season injuries to marquee ones

And Brady's tweets were even referenced on the NFL Network broadcast, with announcer Joe Buck and former quarterback and now-color commentator Troy Aikman poking fun at the situation.
“When Tom Brady (https://247sports.com/Player/Tom-Brady-76179) speaks, a whole lotta people will listen,” Aikman said. "Maybe this will change things. We’ll all be thanking Tom Brady (https://247sports.com/Player/Tom-Brady-76179).”
Just one play later, another flag was thrown.
“Tom Brady (https://247sports.com/Player/Tom-Brady-76179) is one of the least controversial people we have in our game,” Aikman said. “He’s royalty. When he makes a statement like that, that should get somebody’s attention.I agree, this is ridiculous.”
Consider us a bit torn. Is Brady the wrong messenger as someone who may occasionally get the benefit of the officiating doubt? Maybe. But if Aikman's right, and Brady's tweets lead to some form of change, he'll be just the right guy at the right time.
