If New England wanted him SOOOO bad that they would go thru all this and risk getting busted (or not getting him), they would have just offered Pittsburgh a first rounder for him. Which for them is a second rounder and they have no problem finding talent in later rounds or thru FA.
Turns out the Pats DID offer a first-rounder for Mr. Big Chest, but the Steelers turned them down. If only our F.O. could have seen the future -- it would be nice to have NE's 1st while they watch the Clown self-destruct

If true, turning it down was ignorant.
It's not like we could compete with them with or without Brown.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

If true, I wonder what the timeline of that was?

I do believe that Buffalo offered a 1st and AB refused to sign there.

It would be really interesting to see an true full accounting of AB's time in Pittsburgh.

Naaaaaw...dealing with the devil would have never sat well with the Steeler Empire. We did right by not dealing with them.
