I think we have a talent problem for sure. I'm just not certain what needs more improvment; Players or coaches.

Mike Tomlin is who he is. He can manage the team to wins but he's probably not the main reason for any win. The coaches I'm concerned with are Fichtner and Butler. I really hate to say this but are there any other pair of O& D coaches that physically look more clueless and appear less enthusiastic than these two? I'm sure they're smarter than they look, but jeez.

The offensive game plan was just vanilla IMO. You saw all sorts of creativity in the cheaters, even though they probably didn't need it. Our offense looked STUPID. Third down calls, where we continue to go with low percentage pass plays that need perfect over-the-shoulder timing to work.

Overall failure has to be on the offensive side of the ball. They made the defense play far too long. I knew we'd need more than 30 to win and in that context, our D played about as expected. But the offense could not possibly have been worse. It was pathetic. We should have been shut out.

I hate starting out a season like this. I felt the beatdown coming and it still hurt worse than I imagined.

This is true. There is something different about him. Doesn’t look like a receiver, gets behind people so easily without being fast?
Not saying its bad.....just something different.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

      TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Struggling in New England is nothing new. The Patriots have outscored Pittsburgh 152-72 in their past four games inside Gillette Stadium.
That's not a problem related to this year's player talent (other than maybe Ben, who seems in awe of Marcia).

          4th & 1 – shotgun – pass incomplete

3rd and 1 – shotgun – pass incomplete (looked like miscommunication as to where the WR should be + a bad touch pass).

Spread the love (or sh!t) around. Fichtner ran out the same formation 4 times unsuccessfully. No play action. Literally could not find a play to get 1 yard. Put the FB on the field. Use a QB sneak. I wish someone could tell me why Nix has a roster spot (I like Nix but there's no reason for a blocking specialist fullback that never comes off the bench). I'd rather see Gentry dress and use your 6'8" TE for a jump ball in short yardage then dress a FB to do nothing.

Line: LG: 328 lbs / C: 304 / RG: 315 and a QB generously listed at 240 (haha)... At some point the line has to move someone. And I hate the play where Conner lost 4. You need 1, don't go backwards or sideways from 5 yards back when you need 1 damn yard.

Just re-watched that play. Washington running out of bounds is inexplicable. He's not that close to the sideline and never gets touched. It's a bad look.

We are too cute and I think part of the reason is because we can’t beat guys 1 on 1 right now.

He’s a farm boy... I don’t think he is ready for prime time yet.

Dude has the tools tho but damn it seems like he is always almost making things happen and then he makes a head scratching play that lets you know he isn’t there yet.

This was infuriating. I'm not saying that I want to see the offense revert back to 3 yards and a cloud of bust, but a little power football in short yardage situations would make sense. The worst to me was going empty backfield - how do you not keep a RB in there to create at least the threat of a run?

NE's top tackler from last season (LB Kyle Van Noy) spent the game with his wife in the delivery ward at a local hospital, and in all of those 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 situations, we do not take advantage of that fact and employ Rosie Nix as a lead blocking FB that can pound through to get us that yard...not one single time. Why is Nix on the active gameday roster if you aren't going to use him even then?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Year after year of 'A' drafts should be plenty of talent. Add in the second best HC should equate to multiple super bowl wins
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

To be fair to the D, we had a 3 and out problem last night which led to a way to many snaps for the D problem.

Offense doesn’t help the D at all with 3 and outs
