This fan base is a sad bunch after a loss. At the end of the day it's only a game in which we have no control over the out come. Out lives don't change whether the team wins or loses.Comment

James Harrison says Mike Tomlin won Super Bowl with 'Cowher-based team'
Since his retirement, former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has become a fixture on the sports talk television circuit. And it would appear given the opportunity, Harrison doesn't hesitate to throw shade at his former team. Hard to blame him. Honestly, what…
Since his retirement, former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has become a fixture on the sports talk television circuit. And it would appear given the opportunity, Harrison doesn’t hesitate to throw shade at his former team. Hard to blame him. Honestly, what else would any of these shows have Harrison on to talk about?
This time around, Harrison was on the Fox Sports 1 show “Undisputed” and made the case the one Super Bowl that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has won (and the one he went to and lost) were centered on a team built by his predecessor, Bill Cowher.
Tomlin inherited a team led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who already had a Super Bowl win in his young career. Tomlin got a Super Bowl win in his second year as head coach with a team almost solely made up of players already on the roster when he was hired.
As hard as it is to see a former player like Harrison disparage the Steelers, you can’t really argue with his reasoning. Tomlin rode the momentum Cowher created about as far as he could. But there is no denying that Tomlin’s track record since the Steelers’ Super Bowl loss to the Green Bay Packers after the 2010 season has been less than stellar.
But I want to pass the question off to you: Did Tomlin just ride the coattails of Cowher and fail to maintain the level of play, or is it that the rest of the league caught up?

I don't know why people want to bring this nonsense up in an effort to diminish this team's accomplishments with Tomlin as HC.James Harrison says Mike Tomlin won Super Bowl with 'Cowher-based team'

Tomlin coached teams had the opportunity to make it to the Superbowl from 2014 to 2017.
Why do fans want to diminish the accomplishments that Tomlin helped this team achieve? It makes no sense.Comment

Burgh speaks the truth. Team looks to have some growing pains with the secondary especially. Seems Haden and Nelson are holding their own on the outside but the safeties need to get their act together or they will be toyed with all season.Comment

The defense did some good things this week. Much better than last week. If the offense could had played better early on who knows? The defense was on the field for almost 36 minutes. Maybe they were a bit tired at the end?
Unfortunately they failed as a team. A play here or there and they could had won.
I hate the PI review. It's a judgement call that should be left out on the field. It won't be long until teams start taking advantage of that rule. The league is going to kill itself with that type of rule.Comment

Hey Captain Lemmings, you can now argue with James Harrison about it instead of me. But Harrison's words carry waaaay more weight then your's or mine.

I've been saying it for years
Amazing how many players (past, current) announcers, etc etc have spoken out on the direction Tomlin has taken this team. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment
