Thanks for posting. Was an interesting read. It just reminds me why I am so excited for this version of the Steelers in 2019. The drama, I hope, is now gone and the emblem is now the most important thing.

So Tom Brady can have the backup QB traded away, have a personal trainer fly with the team but he "doesn't wield the power" that Roethlisberger does!?

I'm sure sone will spin that as tomlin looking like a genius somehow, but some of that is pretty damning stuff and he comes off as weak and ineffective

and cutting troy via voicemail is downright pathetic if that's true

Didn't read that at all. Tomlin was all-in with his QB, maybe to a fault . Others didn't get the same sway.

Everyone deserves blame since it didn’t end well.

No one is clean in this story.

Tomlin is still the cleanest because he isn’t the GM. He only holds so much power. You give a player big money it’s hard for a coach to keep the peace when he is making less than the player he is trying to manage.

Anyone saying Ben isn’t as fault is crazy. If Ben has a clean past I would probably give him the benefit but he has a trail of bed crumbs and questionable off field decisions as well.

might very well be a big reason why Troy has distanced himself from the Steelers...

I had no idea before that article that Troy will not come back to the Steelers until Tomlin is gone. Was that a known thing? I can't figure out how I missed it if it was.

I think Tomlin and Ben come away clean if they can win a SuperBowl. Heck any one of them come away clean if they win a SuperBowl, but unfortunately for Bell and Brown, I don't see the Raiders or Jets having any shot whatsoever.

Although, when the Raiders move to Las Vegas, they probably will turn a corner and have to win a SuperBowl to fill the new stadium and create a fan base in the new city.

It's a pretty universal opinion that the Steelers only hope for a SB is Roethlisberger... he goes down or retires the Steelers will be out of the conversation until a new franchise QB is found. Tomlin clearly knew this, maybe enabled BR to a fault. I don't have a problem with it. No easy task keeping 3 top five NFL players happy at once.

(for the record, if the TP story is true, then am truly disappointed with the approach Tomlin took on his release. completely understand TP's position)

Tomlin made the right choice of the three. I disagree however it couldn’t be an easy task. I think Ben still is the same ‘big ben’ that got him in trouble early in his career, he’s just matured enough to avoid further trouble. You can be a great QB and demonstrate both humility and leadership. Drew brees comes to mind. But that’s not ben.

Not that it particularly matters to me, I just want good football.

Bad luck for Tomlin however, it WASN’T an easy task.

Tomlin and Ben are already exonerated from the Ben/Brown saga. Everyone now sees who the real problem was.
