Not sure where it officially started but it goes back to the days when the Pgh Tribune had a message board. It was the precursor to this place, created when that one shut down. All the 2008/09 join dates are guys/gals coming over from the Trib. By the time this place started Troy was The Man and that ridiculous moniker was just used as a joke and to see how it could be used with the current player who was thought to be a bust.

I will take "great" over quantity every time. That is why teams value top picks even if they have "quantity" needs.

The fact that we won a bidding war and drafted the same dude the trading team wanted only ensures that we definitely paid way more than market value to move up.

If he is.......I know people will hate this.......the next Ray Lewis, it will be well worth it.
I am hopeful that this is the case.
Frankly, the talk of his "leadership" points to this possibility.
I hear we scouted him way in excess of typical so hopefully we know something other teams dont.

But I take no solace in knowing we had to outbid other teams to get him, because even the teams who want him, must feel (hopefully they are wrong) it cost too much to acquire him.
Too soon to say if the Steelers gave up too much. Using this logic you could say the Steelers gave up too much for Polamalu.... and we can only wish it works out the same.

Our we a better defense? Do we have an ILB for the next decade?

Pretty sure Eddie Lacy was in the convo for offensive rookie of the year then he fell off a cliff.

We need longevity and solid production. We don’t need a rookie splash
        Yes,yes and yes..........

If he's the player our front office envisions him being, it will all be moot. No one will care what we gave up.

No one cares what we gave up for Troy because we got a Hall of Famer.

No one cares what we gave up for Santonio because we got a Super Bowl MVP.

Hopefully no one will care what we gave up for Bush going forward due to some similar accomplishment.
preach it brother burgher. Truth. Bush will turn out to be very special barring injury. Our D will look different quickly with him on the field. No one will be complaining maybe as little as 6 games into the season.
          Trolls are people too.

Don't worry, Shawn...on this board, no matter what, folks always find something to complain about.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
