    Steelers sign mark barron

‪Former Rams’ LB Mark Barron reached agreement on a two-year, $12 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per source. A rare free-agent foray for Pittsburgh.‬

Is he ILB or OLB. other than recognizing the name know nothing about him. I guess this means no Justin Houston

From what I read he started inside and found this ...

Since joining the Rams via trade from Tampa Bay in 2014, Barron has been a consistent presence in the front seven and defensive backfield. Barron totaled 398 tackles, seven sacks and five interceptions in his five-ish seasons with the franchise. The linebacker missed the first four games of the 2018 season with an ankle injury, but returned in Week 5 and played through Los Angeles' Super Bowl run.

LJ Fort’s replacement, with a dash of replacing Burnett thrown in...

Weird, Rotoworld says he’s VW’s backup in Keith Butlers new look 4-3.....do they know something we dont?

If they do expect a Defensive Lineman in Round 1

              More 4-3 speculation??

Does it really matter anymore since 2nd and 3rd down are Nickel/Dime situations 80% of the time.

This dude is the replacement for Burnett, to play the dimebacker role that was envisoned for him.

I think we still may take two ILBs in the draft.

yeah, Barron is a dime backer. expect Morgan Burnett to be released soon.

Take on Barron from CBS Sports site:

"Barron made it through three seasons of a five-year, $45 million contract, getting the start in each of his 42 appearances during that stretch. He never lived up to his sizable contract, and the Rams can afford to move on after Cory Littleton emerged as a solid starter at inside linebacker. The 29-year-old converted safety may have to battle for playing time at his next stop."

Doesn't inspire a whole lot of excitement about this pickup, IMO.

Let's not assume anything. We are talking Keith Butler here.

Good news about the signing -- since he was cut by L.A., Barron won't count against us when it comes to compensatory picks.
