Look for a ILB signing in the next few days.

Fort wasn’t terrible. Chickillo gets on my last nerve.

I wouldn't pay either guy $4 million per year (and I have no idea what Fort signed for), but if I was forced to give that amount of money to one guy, it would be Fort, not Chickillo.

3-year, can reach up to $10M. $1.9M in guarantees.

This loss stings a bit. Not that Fort is irreplacable, but he was the only ILB on the roster that was good in coverage last year. So now we really need to get two such players -- one to be a starter and one to have as a reserve.

I liked fort but obviously the coaches didn't

when they signed sean Spence off his couch to come in and start over him was all anyone needed to see. what a brilliant move that was

Here's my guess... #1.) we sign a FA to upgrade over Fort.. #2.) we draft an ILB early. #3.) We cut Dirty Red to make room for the new acquisitions.

Dude is in the last year of a 7th round rookie deal. He literally will take up less than half of one percent of the cap. And he's a core special teamer.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Fair enough. Looks like Dirty Red is our #1 backup heading into the draft.

Dirty Red; good LB above the neck; tortoise below the neck.

When I was talking about "Making room".. I was talking about a roster spot. He's obviously not going to hurt us in terms of a cap hit. Without looking at the numbers... I'd bet Shazier will be making more than Red this year.
