McDonald has missed an average of 4 games a year. Last season seems more of a fluke than anything.

You're right.... but I just can't get the stiff arm he laid on the DB out of my head. If he can do that a few times a season, it might be worth the entertainment value alone.

99% of the membership on here was ready to kick McDonald to the curb after last year.. I'm glad he redeemed himself this year...and proved some guys wrong. Hopefully the trend continues with Vance, but we definitely need another solid TE.

I am one of those who did, and somewhat want to this year. I agree and glad he is trending upwards., but I don't trust his drops and mostly his health. Would love to match him with a great talented TE.

Just looked up his stats. He is around 12th in yards and he is about the 12th highest paid,............so if healthy, he is paid about right.

I think McDonald got caught up in the wash of hatred fans had towards the Ladarius Green signing. Green made $6 M in one year, played in 6 games (only 2 starts) and cost them $3.5 in dead cap money. Total bust of a signing. That was fresh on everyone's mind when the next TE came in and seemed to have injury issues. No Green and I believe The Farmer gets a lot more slack.

I'm happy for James.

I liked him as a player, but he seems to be the VW of TEs. Solid, but not spectacular. And we have a player better than he is on the roster (hopefully he continues to stay healthy).

We'll probably need another #2 TE (although I bet Grimble could do in a pinch). I bet we pick up one late in UFA so we don't feel squeezed in the draft.

6 mil per plus could net us a mid rounder pending who we sign. I liked JJ for a back up TE who was a 5th rounder thought he did fine.

JJ was a solid #2. But I would like to have a true dual threat TE set. Love single back two te sets. Having 4 legit, 5 if the running back can catch truly masks run or pass is effective. Only works when both TEs are legit. McDonald when heathy is the real deal. I love him as a player. Give me two of those kinds of TEs.
