SKL presents "You be the GM"

This is SKL with his GM hat on and the line of thinking I would take to right this ship quick. Rapoport reporting today that Denver, Raiders, Cardinals have all offered enough to get a deal done before the deadline. SKL the GM would look to swing two deals and draft the following.

Deal#1- AB goes to Arizona for Josh Rosen and Deone Buchanon (1 ILB starter covered)
Deal #2- Flip Rosen, our 3/83, 4/122 and next years third to Denver for 1/10 and 3/72.

    DRAFT

1/10-Devin White-ILB-LSU (need to get ahead of Bengals 2nd ILB starter covered)
1/20-Byron Murphy-CB-Washington-safest DB in the draft (starts opposite Haden week 1)
2/52-Hakeem Butler-WR-Iowa St. -4.49 speed with his catch readius. No Brainer
3/72=Chase Winovich-OLB-Michigan- needed to move up the extra 10 spots for this kid-screams Steelers
6/175-Sione Takitaki-OLB-BYU-risk reward player who has absolute beast film
6/192-Ryan Bates-OL-PSU- hometown kid with versatility Steelers crave
7/219- Kicking competition for Boswell or BPA

3 starters and a rotational pass rusher. Plus Buchanon as another starter. HERE WE GO

Byron Murphy is the one CB that if we are forced to take one in round one, he'd be the one I'd take.

I'm hearing that the Browns are all over Butler thou....I don't see him lasting until our pick in round two.

I am starting to like Winovich and Takitaki and that sneaky pick of Butler

I don't think we are in a position to let Gilbert, Finney and possibly Foster walk. We don't have enough in reserve.

Hey, I thought I was the GM, haha.

Nice SKL! I'd do it. One note though--I love Winovich (why does he remind me of Kevin Greene...) but his Combine performance and motor will have someone coveting him before 72. I'm thinking he's a 40-60 guy now.

                  The hair?

He may very well be gone, only takes one. With the first round expected to be about 75% Defense I'm hoping they all come back for Offense in round 2.

So we get to start Devin White AND Deone Buchanan in the middle of our defense, PLUS still keep our pick at 1.20 to add a rookie CB opposite Haden, and still get our annual 2nd round wideout pick (following Juju and Washington in 2017 and 2018), plus competition for Bud with a hungry local kid in round 3??? Whatever kind of voodoo you have to do to actually make this happen would work for me...Nice, skl...
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I love the scenario you've presented, SKL. I don't think it will play out that way, but I'd be very happy if it did.

a CB who is under 6' tall and only runs a 4.55 forty? I think his stock will drop...

Mike Hughes and Josh Jackson ran similar times last year and both were 1st rd picks.

i must admit, I'd rather my CB's be at least 6 feet tall but he can cover and seems to be able to track the ball. Can't we just go LB, LB with our first two picks? My hands get sweaty thinking about taking a CB in the first round.
