    Obj trade rumours

I notice a few days ago, that there has been several reports that NYG was looking to trade OBJ last year and that Pats were going to try to open those talks again this year. I am not sure if it is just media rumours, but noteworthy since it can play in our AB trades. I heard SF was interested in him as well...

Why would NYG want to trade OBJ?

Makes sense to trade up to draft the top QB in the draft, some team is going to try to leapfrog them at 6... Jags, Washington, Miami. Manning years are coming to an end and draft position only makes sense to draft a franchise QB.

    He has a big contract.

Barkley is center of offense, they can draft always draft a WR in the second round to add in the mix with Shepherd and Engram.

Should we open talks to trade AB for OBJ?

Or can we play a role in this trade...

SF gets OBJ and #5 and giants 4th #125
Giants get SF #2 and AB and Goodwin
We get SF #36 and NYG #37

Giants in rebuild mode get the best QB in draft, a game changer vet in AB, who has a cheaper contract than OBJ, and a solid WR in Goodwin.
SF gets the WR for Jimmy G, to go along with Petris and Kittle.
Steelers end up with 2nd rounders, we can always trade up or stay pat, this is a deep draft.

Given what you've heard from this clown to date, do you really think that Mr. Big Chest is going to accept a cheaper contract that OBJ?

AB Big Chest is going to have to be wooed by some idiot team like the Redskins. I SERIOUSLY doubt that the Giants would be dumb enough to pay even the contract AB has now, when he's proven to be far more disruptive than OBJ.

I was sort of thinking the same, they both bring their baggage.

But OBJ is on contract for 5 years, crazy loot, while AB is only 3 years and the first year is practically free.

Maybe more picks have to be involved, or another team ... the Raiders or Washington.

AB has already thrown his 3 year remaining contract out the window. He is demanding a new deal with guaranteed money. Words directly out his is big mouth!

AB has backed off of the new contract demand now. He flip flops. But fortunately for us in that we have some prime suckers..I mean teams available for AB in Oakland , Washington and San Fran so I'm thinking we can have some competition for AB's services between them; which should at least keep the floor at a second round pick and a player.

Yeah but he also in same tweet he referred to himself as Mr. Big Chest. The dude was working out and being silly, stupid, and foolishly acting cocky ( in his own humor) meaning he is getting stronger, a good work out. His homie called him in the middle of it... how official or serious can you take it. He was talking about being the best receiver, normally being the best you equate it with having the best contract, but he has done that. He was telling owners to call him, as if he can do anything without Stealers approval. You can't take everything he says literally.

As a fan I was thinking is he serious, and getting upset over it. But a few day later I just realize it was just a silly tweet, meaningless, just him showing face and keeping touch with the outside world.

                He isn't that dumb...

                ( or is he?)

Not sure if the Steelers would consider an OBJ for AB trade straight up. But maybe a change of scenery would help all parties involved.

All I know is my dream scenario is the Steelers finding a way of packaging AB and our first and whatever else we have to give to leap frog the Giants and grab Haskins.

A year ago, I would have laughed out loud at the thought of that. Today?... it sounds pretty darn great.

If we trade AB anywhere, the remainder of his signing bonus accelerate onto this year's cap ($21.12M).

If we obtained OBJ in return, his base salary for 2019 is $16.75M with a workout bonus of $250K, so he'd have a cap hit of $17M.

I can't imagine a scenario in which this team would have over $38M of it's 2019 salary cap tied up in 2 wideouts (one on the team and one no longer on the team).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
