Just taking a look here at next year's schedule.
Home: Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Dolphins, Bills, Seahawks, Rams, Colts
Away: Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Patriots, Jets, Cardinals, 49ers, Chargers
Advantages:
1) We've been talking recently about the AFC East being the worst division in the league the last few years. Time to see. Playing the one tough game in Foxboro, while getting to play three supposedly easy teams.
2) Playing an NFC division with two strong teams and two weak teams (NFC West). Get the two strong teams at home (Rams, Seahawks) and the two easier games (9ers, Cards) on the road.
Disadvantages:
1) Three West Coast trips (although one not quite all the way to the coast).
2) Everyone always talks about the first place schedule being tough. The difference is only two games. This year the Steelers miss the first place schedule. The result? Second place schedule gives the Steelers the Colts (10-6) and the Chargers (12-4). First place would have been Chiefs (12-4) and Houston (11-5). Not much difference.
The biggest question is can the Steelers beat teams (and convincingly) that they should easily in SF, Arizona, Buffalo, Jets?
Not a tough schedule by any stretch, without some drastic changes in several of these teams.
