And that's just the point some are trying to make. For all of that craziness this season the Steelers were still that close. Why blow the team up if you think it will only take a return to normalcy to be back in the mix?

I agree. That's why I think the AB stuff sucks so much. I think we'll be clearly worse if we have to trade and replace him (eating the cap room) and then also have to eat the cap room for replacing our kicker.

In the one year where we might have extra cap space to get a higher end UFA, it would suck to burn that opportunity at the end of Ben's career to subtract players instead of adding them.

as they said on the telecast

KC Defense is much different at home.
only allowing 18 points a game at home vs 35 a game on the road

Cowboys defense got ran through; funny thing is Dak still stearing down receivers too.

KC and LAR, 2 teams known for their offense, in the final 4 for the super bowl

Which means what? Cause there are always 4 teams left after the simi-finals.

the thread was started saying defense wins in the playoffs. 2 teams far and away not known for their defense are in the final 4

dallas, another team known for their defense this year, will be watching from home

You are correct. Our weakness on D is directly related to high draft picks on D not becoming what we envisioned. Every team misses. But, the Steelers cant develop secondary talent. They can't pick secondary talent. Jones and Dupree hurt us as well.

Well, we all know Dak is one of them running QBs and they are not real QBs. Right? Isn't that the deal?

He was very inaccurate yesterday. A lot of that was due to the Rams pass-rush, but the job of the QB is to hit short throws to running backs when under pressure. He didn't do that. And some throws were just plain horrible - even the announcers were shocked by how badly he missed on one of his throws when everyone was open.

Another QB with a similar style also had a bad game yesterday: Andrew Luck. I was surprised by how little zip there is on his ball, and he never really threw any deep balls, at least none that I recall. I know he had gaudy stats this year; maybe he just had a bad game (outdoors, cold, rain/snow/sleet). But if I were a DC, I would play man-to-man against the Colts, crowd the line of scrimmage, and force Luck to try to fit the ball into small windows or hit some over the top throws.

Shazier too (for a totally different reason).

Hey, you said it; I just said he’s still stearing down receivers. Mahommes is light years ahead of him in qb development.

The teams that are left are written below along with their offensive and defensive rankings (by yards and points)
