Awesome...Took a lot of work...ThanksI can answer that...I collected Steelers draft picks since 2011. I posted my analysis here earlier. It's finding talent 40% of all picks are out of the league. Meaning they weren't good enough to be developed by other teams as well.

Didn't the team with the best defense lose the Eagles yesterday? Lesson from that game is kicking is vital.
Didn't the AFC team with the best defense lose to the Chargers because they didn't have offense??
Did I watch different games?"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Wow. But it wasn't the offenses that took off.
1) San Diego implemented a defensive game plan that was effective and frankly Rivers didn't light it up.
2) Yes the Kicker missed (or from what I saw it was slightly set ajar) but Philly's defense was up to the task as well
3) Dallas shut down the #1 rushing team - D
4) Not a single team broke the 30 point mark yesterday, hell the highest score was 24. The average total points was 36.25 with the average final score being 21 - 15.25
All 8 teams average 25.06 point for the regular season, yesterday it was 18.125 or 1 TD less than the season average.
That was my point. Having a lopsided team with talent will not win you playoff games. Perhaps if I would've said balance. But I do think its worth taking note. Having defensive talent is catamount to success in the playoffs.

Totally agree. The word is "balance". You can't be lopsided in team building like we are currently. Defense is the name of the game in the playoffs.Wow. But it wasn't the offenses that took off.

Tiproast sure knows his big cats, since he's a lifelong fan of a bunch of cheetahs (pronounced with a wicked thick Southie accent, of course).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Looking at the Chargers going with a 47 D throughout the game to shut down the Ravens I trust our coaches took note. We dabbled with a 2-2-7 in camp n in pre-season then scrapped it. Will get another look I believe in camp. Hybrids physical enough to stack n shed along with greater quickness then ILB's gave them a schematic advantage. Pinching DT's in the A gap to shut down the inside run game while keeping guards from getting to the hybrids worked well for the Bolts.
A practice squad player like Marcus Allen is built for a roll like this if he can make the transition from FS. I'm sure Edmunds would excel in that hybrid roll as well.
Burnett too is another candidate who can slide into such a roll imho. Lets hope our coaching staff or new coaching staff revisits this.Comment

We also saw the top 5 highest earning QBs miss the playoffs.
It takes talent on both sides of the ball, good coaching, and more than a little luck to win a SB.Comment

just what I said, " a lot of defense and some offense". Not a major imbalance on either side. But we are missing the "good coaching" part .
