I collected the raw draft information from 2011-2018 and have sliced/diced it as unbiased as possible. Hard to know what this data means withtout comparing it to other organizations. I can provide more data but the % of all 35 defensive draft picks over the last 8 years that are a starter or depth (not assessing great vs bust) is 54%. I have always felt that the problem with the Steelers draft is the miss at secondary which begets more wasted picks on secondary and so on, and so on...
I think the fact that over 50% of those picks (8 out of 15) are out of the league is rather telling, regardless of where they were selected in the draft. (I also have broken it down by top3 rounds vs bottom 4 but like I said it's a lot of data).
