LBell is hurt and knows he's done. So his only viable option for 1 big pay day is to get the biggest possible guaranteed contract.
Sitting out a year was just a cover up for his injury. He's better off waiting to hit FA and get that one last contract rather than letting teams actually see he is done and having the $14m be the last dollars he sees from the NFL.
If it's true and he gets hurt immediately after signing a FA deal, that's the only logical reason for sitting out the season that I would agree is the best move.
