    C.J. Anderson

He was just released from Carolina.

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25259021/carolina-panthers-waive-rb-cj-anderson

Could he be our insurance policy going forward, better than Ridley? More experience than Sammuels.

This is a no brainer in my opinion... Anderson has SB experience... was a probowler in 2014, and a 1000 yard back last year.
Just read the team that signs him would have to pick up his 800K base salary for the rest of the year. Not exactly sure what all comes with that, but signing him for anywhere close to that is a no brainer.

crazy when you consider, CJ was a pro bowler and 1000 yard back in Denver, but they wanted cheaper rookie options at the position. And Carolina only signed him for $1.7m for a year.

Bells agent should have pointed him to this example of a player when he held out for the season and turned down 14.

Yep........... There's a really good chance he's already turned down the best offer he will ever receive..

and I don't see teams throwing a pile of guaranteed money at him (given his history). Could be wrong though.

Would love this...And I'm not one of those, sign him, sign everybody crowd...I actually watched a lot ( fantasy football ) ...Don't hate me...But he is a 1cut, hit the hole hard runner, with a good initial burst...and a competent receiver...

And most importantly, Just not a Ridley fan...Hurt way to often...And just not very good imo

I wonder how his blocking skills are. I think that's what we'll miss more than even Conner's running if he were to go down. Ridley and Samuels can do some running, but I've never heard much that they can protect Ben by picking up the blitz, etc.

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

S.A.S.F., very valid point concerning blitz pick ups, has anything been reported that Samuels and Ridley can't do it?

For some reason I am hearing more noise about Samuels, has he leap frog Ridley in the rankings? If so, could it be his versatility and blocking/blitz pick up.

I hate to paint his short body of work with a broad brush but from what I saw Samuels just looked better than Ridley against the Panthers. I have no idea on his blocking skills but I believe he has leap-frogged Ridley. Younger, more versatile.

I think the Steelers do need to bring another back in, I would hope they'd kick the tires on CJ. Seems like we could sign him for less than what bell made in a week.

Is there a site that shows the available RBS? Should we look at other teams P.S.s?
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Not sure he is better than Samuels or Ridley. Who would he replace? I wouldn't risk Samuels on the PS

If a RB is brought in (as long as it isn't 2Sant), I think Ridley goes.

Anderson asked for his release from Carolina because he was promised a regular role in the offense, but the Panther coaches decided to run the wheels off Christian McCaffrey instead, so C.J. only got scraps here and there rather than regular P.T.

Why would he want to sign with a team that uses Conner the same way that Carolina uses McCaffrey?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

That's a valid question... I think the new OC is not nearly as narrow minded as Todd Haley was. Bring in a "1B" type of guy like CJ Anderson.. and I believe he gets 10 touches a game.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
