remember how a few weeks ago

the steelers were excused for having a bad defense because tomlin/colbert had drafted so poorly that past 5 years and there was no talent on that side of the ball?
remember how it wasnt the coaches fault because they didnt have any players to coach up?
steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clown

There's no question we could use upgrades at a couple of positions on defense -- one CB spot and at LB.

Still, it's obvious that the primary problem with this D was not talent. We have better talent on defense than KC or NE, IMO. It comes down, then, to coaching and execution. We seem to have improved in those two facets in the past month. Let's hope we can keep it up.

Seeing as burns came in and instantly drew a PI in the end zone allowing them to score the next down and sent r igjt back to the bench.... his confidence is in the tank

To my unsophisticated eye, it seems the big difference recently is our big guys up front are getting pressure, and/or keeping the O line occupied so other guys can get to the QB.

As to why that's working now but didn't for the first quarter of the year ... I have no idea why! Can someone shed light on that?

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

It's usually not just one factor. It's a learning process. Sometimes it takes time. Some fans have little patience. A good thing coaches have patience.

It's also a good thing when owners have patience with their coaches and don't overreact and fire everyone whenever fans have hissyfits.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Thats what happens when the DL is allowed to attack and aren't asked to "occupy blockers"

Hmmmm. Clearly your point is that those who questioned our talent were wrong. Somethimg else must have happened. Nice.

You no doubt feel vindicated in blaming coaching for the struggles?

                  Cool.

Sounds like it's time somebody to change his signature as it sounds like you need to give coach credit for the turn around.

Oh and a back at ya.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

BTW, our defense has average talent still.
One really good DE....rest of the line is average.
One really good linebacker.....3 are average or below.
One really good secondary player. The rest are average or below. (Edmonds is flashing mad potential though).

Our defense is outplaying their talent.

I, for one, am glad that we canned Haley.

I was really glad they brought Burns in otherwise the score would of been really lopsided.

I've been calling him Cortez Allen all along. Only difference is... Allen was drafted in the 4th if memory serves.
