Scoring 30 points per game always seemed to be a goal for our offense during the Haley era, but I don't believe we ever came all that close to accomplishing it...until now at least. Sorry Toddy Boy.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Hargreaves snaps are up, the Defense plays lights out. Are you saying there is a place for a NT in today’s NFL? This has been one of Chadman’s points over the last few seasons- just because other teams do defense differently, the Steelers should play to their strength. The system is set up to let the blocks get eaten up in the middle and free up the edge guys to 1 on 1 blocking....play a NT!
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

        Light up the darkness.

Honestly Chad, Hargrave doesnt only come in when we use a traditional NT.
We still play a lot of that big nickel but for some reason Hargrave wasnt getting in on the rotation earlier in the season.
Hargrave had 6 tackles last night...

There are several reasons why the team might not win the Superbowl. This is just another attempt for you to take a shot at Tomlin if the team fails to win the SB.

The Steelers are playing really well right now, but so is New England, Kansas City, Houston, both teams in Los Angeles, New Orleans, etc. Before last night, you could have made an argument for Carolina being in that group as well. Right now, we are legit Super Bowl contenders, which is all you can really ask for from any team at this point in the season. November and December football will help determine which of these teams ultimately could be considered to be the Super Bowl favorites in each conference.

How about this for an interesting stat in the CAR game - no flags/penalties called against the Steelers!

(Except for that one against Burns in garbage time, but that doesn't count because the coaches put him in just to keep his streak alive ).

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

Also, Steelers stayed in their base alignment vs. Carolina more than usual. I don't know that that would be wise against every opponent. Depending on who we're playing, less Bince and less Hargrave might be a good thing.

Was this your observation or did you read it somewhere?

It's a double edged sword. Seems to help generate a pass rush, but also leaves the wrong ILBs on the field to defend the pass.

Smart teams will throw to RBs, TEs, and slot WRs against us on 1st and 2nd downs. I wasn't charting the Carolina plays, but man, they seemed to pass on us on 2nd downs to try and take advantage of our ILBs.

No doubt it was a big win for both the offense and defense. It is pretty rare to see a Steelers team perform at a high level on both sides in the same game. I don't read more into the win than what it was; a home game on a short week against an ill-prepared opponent (how many times have we seen that from the Steelers?). It happens in the NFL. The Steelers are visibly improving but I don't see them on the same level as KC, NO, or possibly even the Rams. The NO offense looks to be a well-oiled machine with Brees at QB.

The most important thing; the Steelers definitely look like they are again the best team in the AFC North which is all-important to getting to the post-season.
