Luckily, though, we to travel to Jacksonville next week to face off against the Jagoffs, and after our experience with them last year, we owe them a serious beatdown that essentially would eliminate them from playoff contention this year entirely.
Fornette is lucky back for the Jags this week. Need to keep the defense in the attack mode and crush Bortles like we did Cam. I don't think it is a coincidence that defensive play is ticking up with Burnett coming back. I think he helps deal with match ups.

Ben Roethlisberger: “There’s still some stuff out there”

Posted by Darin Gantt on November 9, 2018, 6:27 AM EST

The Steelers had nearly 300 yards at halftime, and Ben Roethlisberger was able to watch most of the fourth quarter of a 52-21 win from the sidelines with his perfect passer rating intact. It was that good.

Amazingly, they think it can get better.

Via Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Roethlisberger disputed the idea that they might be peaking.

“I hope not yet,” Roethlisberger said. “You want to keep trying to move up until the end, keep trending up. We’re playing some pretty good football, but there’s still some stuff out there, some plays that we can make.”

That’s hard to imagine, as the Steelers hadn’t scored 52 in a game since 1984. And it was a group effort, with seven different players scoring touchdowns.

“I like the contributions from a lot of people,” coach Mike Tomlin said. “We came into tonight with the mentality that we had to play everyone in a helmet, that’s just part of a short week, and I thought everyone came with that spirit. . . . The distribution of the football on offense is reflective of that.”

It wasn’t just the offense either, as the Steelers had a touchdown of their own (Vince Williams‘ early tone-setting interception for a score), along with five sacks.

“The defense was playing like their hair was on fire,” Roethlisberger said. “It was fun for all parties involved.”

At least the ones wearing black and yellow.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Have to mention Boz as well. 7 for 7 on PAT's to go along with a 50 yard FG! Hopefully this gets his head back on track.

From what i was reading, TJ and Bud were told to attack Cam and not read the run.
Nothing more evident when Bud on 2 plays on the first drive ran right past McCaff and TJ on the forced INT.

I think McDonald and Switzer contribute to that as well on Offense. It's cool to me to see the character of the guys that have been added in the last few years.

The only asterisk I would put on this game is that it was a Thursday Nighter at home. As we were walking into watch the game, I told my son that I thought that the Steelers had a distinct advantage being at home on Thursday because I've always believed that. I haven't checked out the stats but I think a game like this is more tilted in favor of the home team. I did not expect it to be to this extent, but definitely an advantage. I also believe that the Steelers have another advantage next week against the Jags due to the extra three days removed from playing.

I believe the same type of advantage will go against the Steelers against NE and everybody will talk about how the Pats own the Steelers again. After next Sunday in Jax, the Steelers travel two time zones to Denver, travel back to Pittsburgh, travel three time zones to Oakland, then return to face New England, who won't leave the Eastern time zone between now and then. I'm not saying it is an excuse to fail on December 16th, but I am saying that the Steelers play that game at a disadvantage.

I guess what I'm saying is that I won't over-react to this win, and also won't if the Steelers lose to the Pats in December.

I agree, as long as we play like we did against the panthers......

McDoanld has become the "X Factor." When he gets involved early we seem to do very well. Teams struggle to match up against him.

...or the Patriots play like they did against the Titans. The Titans game just confirmed that when you hit Brady over and over they begin to unravel. Of course Gronk did not play but hitting Brady is still the key

You've got to hit him though. Just sending pressure without getting to him won't cut it. Otherwise, he'll eat you alive when you blitz.
