Is There Anything Gurley Does Better Than Conner

I think we've established Conner is better than Bell. So the next logical question - Is he better than Gurley too?

Gurley has more TDs. They average about the same # of YPC. Conner has more games of 100+yds rushing and 50+yds receiving and a TD.

Looking at the players around them, Gurley's not playing with AB getting double and triple teamed which probably helps.

Conner probably runs more physical vs Gurley's finesse game. But I could see a case made for both.

Plus it''s Conner's first year, so he's going through growing pains, so maybe give him a year and then let's compare.

This should be an interesting discussion. No doubt Conner is one of the best backs of the league.

One of the things I am optimistically hoping for is a way to plug in some schemes utilizing both Bell and Connor. I know there is a lot of bad mojo here and I for one am not the biggest LB fan...however the thing I think that would really benefit us especially against the Pats is if they can no longer focus on the "one thing" on defense that has been so successful for them in the past.

I know it's a big if at this point. But I can dream, can't I?

Under Haley... I'd tell you you'd be dreaming..
The new OC, however, is trending upward in recent weeks.

Speaking of, I love Fincie. He's doing a great job as OC. I want Ben to get back to using the TE more but overall, everything is looking good.

Maybe the wrong word, but in comparison to Conner, I do see him that way. Gurley is probably a 4.2-4.3 40 guy while Conner is more a 4.6+ guy that has to run into defenders versus running around them.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

                    Strange lol

Gurley is probably a 4.5 guy, maybe a touch higher. Barkley ran a 4.41, and id think he is significantly faster than gurley. He is explosive with rare acceleration but he is an extremely tough and powerful runner.

I think you're being a little facetious. Gurley was a 1st rounder but I don't think Gurley runs any where near 4.2. Might run a 4.4 - 4.5. I don't know if you missed it but Conner leads the league in forcing tacklers to miss. He is doing much more than just running into people. Conner might run a 4.6 on the stop watch but he is not slow buy any means. He can run away from people plus his assortment of moves, spins etc. make him actually more elusive than Gurley.

Conner was a steal for a 3rd round draft choice but that is hindsight. Many fans had him slated as a glorified Ike Redman, and thought he was overdrafted. They were very wrong.

Oh yea... "Career backup" at best... as some put it. How wrong they were indeed.

I love what Conner has done this year.

But, I think you need to play more than 8 games to be considered one of the best at anything in the NFL.

Let's at least wait until he has a full season before ramping up the hype machine.

The hype machine is on full throttle. Eight games is enough to say you are one of the best this season. That is half of the season. Two or four might be premature. He is only getting better. The nation is noticing.
