If the Steelers can manage to get 5 wins, I think they could sneak into the post season. Then it's a toss up.

@ Jacksonville (Sunday Night) They lost their swagger, team is a mess, they are getting Fournette back soon and just signed Laundry!
@ Denver i like this squad, but they are not a top dog.
L.A. Chargers Another team I like and they appear to be the real deal, but we shall see how they come along in the Burgh in December!
@ Oakland (Sunday Night) they suck, hope we don't give them the win.
            New England... no comment
@ New Orlea great tem, possible see them in Superbowl.
Cincinnati tough match up but should win.

At worst we go 5-3, end up 9-6-1 , Wow that looks horrid, but that should be enough to win division and get us in the game.

Being realistic and a little optimistic, this team should go 4-5 over the last 9 games so Mike Tomlin gets over 500.

But in reality, I think the games we'll likely win are Baltimore, Cincy, and Charger games so 3-6 is my prediction. Oakland looks easy on paper, but its a road game, long trip, easy opponent that we'll likely play down to, and seems like a trap game ahead of NE.

Even winning 3 will be tough. The only thing to like about the schedule is if we can get through it and do well, it'll be a good warm up to prepare for the playoffs. I'll hope for the best as always, but I'm just not confident in the current team.

                Interesting look:

The teams that play in Pittsburgh are currently a combined 21-9
The teams that the Steelers travel to are a combined 17-22

If the team can play .500 ball at home and take care of business on the road (opposite of typical thinking, opposite of how the Steelers usually work).

Funny, however, that this is how the Steelers have looked so far this year. They are 2-2 at home and undefeated at 2-0-1 on the road. Of the 5 remaining road games, there are two bad teams (Oakland and Denver), a dysfunctional Jacksonville squad, and a revenge/rivalry game.

At home there are no easy games, but three of the games are against very beatable teams. 5 wins (9-6-1) should win the division if taking care of the two division games - especially Cincy.

                  Realistic? Maybe.

Optimistic? I don't know about that! With the talent on this team, 3-6 would be a disaster of a season, ending at 7-8-1.

My first reaction was (ouch!) That is not pretty, however, knowing our history of playing down to inferior opponents, and playing better against better competition. That Raider game jumped out at me as the game to fear the most... That has Steeler upset written all over it!

Too bad the trade deadline has passed, or else we could make a deal to get Nick Mullens...he's a bona fide Raider killer!!!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Buzz........it happens nearly every year.......to the two most consistenly good team of the current era.
If the SB was about how you look like in September, the Chiefs would have been the dominant team not the Pats.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

If we were in the Patriots' division, it might not hurt us as bad. In spite of a couple of subpar performances early, they nearly always finish as one of the top seeds, with a bye. We don't have as much "margin" for dropping an early game or two as they do.

For what it's worth, New England's record within their own division over the last 5 seasons is 22-8. Pittsburgh's record within our own division over the last 5 seasons is also 22-8.
