    Kick-offs

I think if I were ST coach I'd tell mt K-O returner just to take a knee and start at the 25-yard, 1st and ten. Switzer seemd to bring it out to about the 22-yard line and more times then not there a penalty (block in the back seems prevalent) and we start at the 12-yard line. I think the 25-yard line is fine.

Also, somewhere Barry Foster is sitting and smiling.

2 years in a row, Danny? Seriously???
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I watch with my son and say it to him all the time. Except for the odd time when you are desperate to make something happen, I would take the 25 yard line rather than the risk of what is going to happen. How often does it come significantly beyond the 25 to make it worth the risk?

      Interesting questions!

I wonder if you say that out of every 100 run backs, 85 of them might make it only to the 22 yard line, 14.9 of them to the 40 yard line, and 0.1 gets a run back for a TD ... and the risk of injury to key personnel is infinitely higher with any run back attempt vs. letting it go through the end zone ... what the right answer would be - run it out or take a knee?

(I'm only trying to improve the market for statisticians, they've been having a rough few job recruting seasons coming out of college!)

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

In this case you would run it out. Down side is only three yards short of the 25. Unfortunately, I'll bet less than 85% now make it to the 25 and too often the returner is far short. How often do you see it come out to the 22 but a block in the back takes it back to the 12?
