No stats to back that up, but to my eye he seems to be at a minimum flushing the QB out of the pocket into danger more often than he used to, and is getting some hits as well lately (not to mention drawing the safety today. Although, if the poor defensive Brownie had only watched more film he would have realized he could have stopped blocking and just let Dupree through, because statistically he was more likely to wind up 10 yards behind the QB rather than actually getting to the QB!).

This has happened before, when Bud has put together a few good plays in a game and people think the light has gone on (e.g. MIA playoff game). I'll withhold my optimism for now. IMO, its more likely that he's simply had a favorable matchup or just the sun shining on a dog's ass than anything else.I wasn't hired for my disposition.Comment

I think he should get credit for the safety too. You get a sack when you're the closest to the QB when they run out of bounds. You should also get the sack when the other team takes a safety because they hold you in the end zone.Comment

While some targeted him for lost of hate, Dupree was never a bad player (unlike J Jones). He is better on the right side because he is not asked to drop into coverage as much as he was on the other side. I did notice that he needs to develop a move to somehow spin inside because he gets taken wide an awful lot and just misses sacks."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

The safety was Dupree. Everyone saw the hold. I have to give him credit for that.Comment

He's neither. He's not a washout like Huey Richardson or Jarvis Jones, but not a dominant force like Joey Porter or James Harrison either. He's in between. A functional player. A more athletic version of Carlos Emmons, if you will.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment
