Statistically, is there anything Bell does better than Connor?

They flashed all kinds of comparative stats of Bell vs. Conner during the game, and Conner had better performance than Bell on every single one.

Remind me again why we need Bell more than Conner?

We don't need Bell more than we need Conner, we need to get something for Bell.

You mean like Preparation H, because he's turned into nothing more than a big pain in the …. ?

He wont sign until Tuesday after 4PM
He doesnt want to be traded.
I also read that he wants to be paid his full salary when he signs.
Steelers basically said thats not going to happen
He should probably wait until after week 10 at this point.

I'm happy to be getting great results from Conner.

But maybe we should let him play at least a season before anointing him.

I haven't gone through the splits, but it's not unlikely that Bell has similar 7 game stretches as Conner is having now. And he's been very good for a long time.

That said, Conner is an easy choice over Bell now based on cap hit and age / wear. But I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to keep this pace all season (or over multiple years). It's a crazy pace for any RB.

Deep down, Conner can't wait for Bell to come back. And the BEST thing for him would be if the Steelers gave Bell back the job, relegating Conner to his previous role (bench). Because Conner has proven what he can do... he doesn't want to waste any more carries than he has to, under his cheap rookie deal. He will have the primary load next year, and (if he plays well), he may be able to negotiate a good extension sooner than later. Playing the full load this year AND next would hurt, because it is all while he is earning peanuts.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

I would guess that Bell might be better on the bong than Conner is.

Wow... it just amazes me how surprised everyone is about Conner; when you all saw Deangelo Williams have the same success behind our offensive line.

But DW had a history of being a good RB. Conner had a history of not being trusted by the coaching staff.

I think most people thought he would be able to run well, but his first year suggested he would struggle in pass pro and there wasn't really any data on whether he could catch the ball. I think assuming that he wouldn't out perform a consensus top 3 back in the league is a reasonable thing.

He's been a great surprise this year.
