Well, give us (fans) some credit too. We generally have supported Heyward and Tuitt his whole career. And when they both landed big money deals, we all said 'great' because we felt these guys were cornerstone type guys. But... AFCC game (combined): zero sacks, one tackle. And a mantra to 'play better' and 'get better'. So we trusted.

Fast forward six months, and we are seeing nothing different. D is as porous as ever... and Cam and Tuitt continue to underperform (i.e. one sack combined so far).
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

It's great that he's attempting to show some form of leadership. It would be even better if he led by example. Did he even play on Sunday night? The Steelers defensive line got manhandled in the run game and got no push in the pass rush. Tuitt was much worse, but Heyward didn't exactly help the cause, either.

I see what Heyward is trying to do but you can't get blood from a turnip. The talent and schemes are just not there; especially in the secondary. Admitted lack of communication too by the players??? Nope. He can call out til the cows come home but nothing is changing on that defense. The Jags game was the warning game and management didn't take the hint of the overhaul that was really needed.

Now, they have to dance with the girl they brought to the prom.

That talent IS there, at least for the most part. There are a few gaping holes right now from a personnel perspective but schematically they arent getting it done. They are running unique stunts constantly that are getting swallowed up.

They miss Shazier (through no fault of bostic who has been great) but they miss shazier more than they lost a MLB. Shazier made safeties look competent, they are not. Edmunds has a ton of potential, its not really fair to blame him for being their only option right now.

Artie Burns, however, is absolute trash. He was a bad pick at the time and he never improved. He looks the aprt of a pro corner but he has nothing upstairs and no awareness. With a defense that has a lot of talent the scheme is not maximizing it. The best players right now are Bostic, Dupree, and Mike Hilton who is injured lol. Haden has been ok, really not getting help when hes supposed to be but again not sure how anyone can put that all on him.

I hated the Butler hire at the time, I hate it now. I hated the Fitchner hire at the time, i hate it now. I am a long time believer that coaches take time to grow just like players do, but sometimes players just clearly dont have it and you cant invest a ton of time and money into them. Thats how these two coordinators make me feel
