    Defense Issues Continue

Seems like last week we started to increase pressure on QB! right! why did we not do this against the Ravens?
If you have Backfield that cannot keep up with receivers then why would you give QB time to throw? I'm confuse on this...
I see no changes from previous years on Defense except we are getting worse.....a lot of penalties is because we are out matched...
Our drafting and developing good players is terrible....The whole locker room feel seems bad......

We had to drop two safeties to help the corners and the LBs were dazed and confused trying to keep up with the TE’s comings and going’s for the most part. And couldn’t.

Occasional Watt tried to get in there but to little effect.

I wasn’t a fan of TJ Watt. He isn’t his brother. Maybe we need to play Cleveland 4 times a year. It’s the only time I hear his name.

Still just a second year guy with a ton of potential to make an impact. But if he doesn't, that will mean 3 1st round outside LB's in a 5 year span (2013 - 2017) to be below average to flat out busts. Hard to overcome that kind of drafting.

But again, I do think it's way too early to make a call on Watt. Would really like to see him making more impact plays though. Really need him to be a player.

don't forget another 12 men on the field penalty which is completely unacceptable at this point

these bozos can't even count to 11

We need to scrap this unsuccessful defensive scheme first.

A couple of times I saw them double teaming Watt.

Dupree got another sack ... is he averaging one a game now??

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

This team can't get pressure on the QB with a four-man rush. And until we get better talent/communication/intelligence on the back end, we can't afford to go with anything more than a four-man rush. And when we go with a four-man rush, opponents pick us apart in the middle of the field because we can't cover their TEs. So there you go.

The defense held the Ravens to FGs in the second half...

With our “high powered” offense, that should have been sufficient...

But, we gained less that 50 yards in the second half, I think...

Both sides of the ball need to hold up their respective ends of the deal afar better than they are...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Chadman is just going to say...one of, if not “the” key component to a dominant 3-4 defence (and before you say we play nickel all the time- we are a base 3-4, and you judge the OLB’s success based on 3-4 assignments in your arguments) is the guy playing NT. As much as Chadman likes Hargreave, he’s not a 3-4 NT. The play of Tuitt & Hayward would improve dramatically if the guy in the middle was drawing double teams to stop him collapsing the pocket. The OLB’s would face less double teams as a result. The RB might need to chip the guys in the middle, not the OLB’s.

The defence has not looked dominant since.......well, since they had a dominant NT.

On top of that- right now, the coaches are showing no faith in the DB’s by playing conservative & soft zone packages. This, Chadman does blame Tomlin for as it seems to be the style he prefers- give up 5, not 50 on a play. But if they play this conservative, they will be chipped away at all game as we see now. Soft zone packages, with the players the Steelers put on the field, don’t work. The LB’s can’t cover TE’s in the mid routes, the CB’s and Safeties are gun shy & play too deep. And this doesn’t give the pass rush enough time to get to the QB.

There is enough talent in most positions. Just the combination used isn’t right.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                          Light up the darkness.
