I know. The first year of a players new contract is usually friendly to the cap.

16th highest is average. I’m not mad at what we pay him. It’s not a lot.

i think he had a good game but we were way too conservative in the second half.

If he was a true 3 down LB sure, but with all this help we need on Defense, these kinda signing makes no sense. Use the money a get a real difference maker at one position

While I can see that, the defense kept themselves out on the field for too long...there were only three offensive possessions in the 2nd half...one of those was the last one ending in the victory formation...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

              Look at it this way
              Would you rather have starting
              Bud, VW and Burnet or
A K Mack, Mathew Thomas and pick a safety.

You do realize that to obtain Khalil Mack, the Bears had to give up 2 first round picks and pay him a salary higher than Ben Roethlisberger makes, right?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yes, I was using him as an example. You can insert any name that you like.

Hell Tuiitt is making nearly more than 10 Million yearly. And he haven't done nothing, all I am saying is the Steelers need to tinker with their approach a little.

While our defense appears to be little more than a sieve right now, consider that they just played a couple of teams that in the midst of historic offensive runs right now.

Ryan Fitzpatrick may be a journeyman QB, but he has thrown for over 400 yards in each of the first 3 games this season.

That has never happened before in NFL history.

Patrick Mahomes may be a first year starting QB, but he has thrown 13 TD's and 0 INT's in the first 3 games this season.

That has never happened before in NFL history either.

Granted, our D certainly played a role in these guys amassing these ridiculous early season stats, but our D won't be facing teams in the middle of historic offensive runs every week of the season.

We've been dealing with the likes of Mike Evans, Desean Jackson, Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Kareem Hunt, etc. running through our secondary.

It's been a struggle for sure, but we've shown that when we can pressure the QB, as we did throughout much of the Cleveland game and in the first half of the Tampa game, we force an opposing QB into mistakes and allow our offense to build a lead. But when we don't get the necessary pressure (late in the Cleveland game, all of the K.C. game, and the second half of the Tampa game), no lead appears to be safe. Hopefully, we are able to find a way to scheme pressure going forward, because that appears to be the only way to slow the opposing teams down whatsoever.

OK I just seen the play that you're talking about. Yea he looked bad on that one just jogging around.

Its crazy how insanely good he is. QB money is madness, but for those that said Mack wouldnt instantly make the defense better might want to reassess that opinion

I thought that the pressure scheme worked well in the first half...

I think that if and when teams adjust, Butler should dial that back and just have TJ Watt rushing the passer and a DB covering a WR or TE instead of the other way around...

All true and the glass IS "half full." This is why it doesn't pay to act like a hysterical fool the first month of the season. We will be fine. May not win the Super Bowl, but we will represent well in the end. Even if we don't, we have the good fortune of talking about higher draft picks.
