For a team that seems to able to pull WRs out of thin air, I am baffled how they whiff on DBs with such regularity. Still hoping Allen will pan out, but pretty underwhelmed with the high draft picks. I think it has to come down to coaching, or am I missing something?

If we split w/ the Bengals and Ravens that's 2 Ls. But looking at the schedule - unless there are massive changes (improvements) to what the D is doing; there are a ton of teams that could easily beat the Steelers. Tampa (Fitzgerald has 9 TDs in 2 games), Falcons, Panthers, Jags, Chargers, Pats, Saints.

The only team I see remaining on our schedule that we'll likely beat is Cleveland, assuming Ben doesn't turn the ball over. But then again, Cleveland should be better and will be a tough opponent down the line.

We should take a game from the Ravens. We can usually get a game from them even when we're awful. And the Bengals will probably screw up at least once against us.

I'm thinking this looks like a 2-13-1 season.

And I'm thinking it's time for Tomlin to go. He can take Colbert with him. These guys aren't drafting well enough or coaching well enough. I think Tomlin's ok as a coach, but you get to a point where enough is enough and you move on.

            That’s Tomlin...

Hasn’t won anything since Cowhers secondary players were here.

Same secondary that allowed 17 points to Blake Bortles in the 4th qtr in the playoff loss.

Tomlin comes in as a defensive coach specializing in the secondary yet he and Colbert can’t recognize real secondary talent in the draft and haven’t found one legit outside secondary cornerback or safety in a decade.

Hmmm.. Tomlin blamed Lebeau and he’s gone..
Tomlin blamed Haley and now he’s gone...

Same old stupid bubble screens being ran; but Todd Haley isn’t here anymore. Hmmmmmmm

              Watch it flippy....

Remember when I kept saying after the Jags loss that Tomlin was on the hot seat and the Tomlin lovers got all over me? Now you see how quiet it is now hmm?

If Fitzpatrick drops 3tds or more on us next weekend, the seat Tomlin is in will be an inferno.

I guess it doesn't matter that Tomlin's drafts have been subpar, his discipline is non existent, he overlooks everyone except the Pats, etc. He's a great orator, but he doesn't back up his words. His teams are often unprepared. They play down to the level of competition repeatedly.

But overall, he does some positive things. He's calm on the sideline and he keeps his teams grinding and competing even when all feels lost.

But at some point, you just don't keep someone as a coach because they can keep their team above 500 consistently. You have to ask the question can this individual build and lead a legit SuperBowl contender? I'm not sure he's got it anymore. Despite the fact that he will continue to say all the right things.

Either way, I'm looking forward to the unleashing of hell that is yet to come this season.

Exactly Flippy..But when you say that around here you get jumped on. Tomlin can’t build a legit defense under Lebeau or Lebeau 2.0 in Butler.

Very, very obvious at the time that they needed to go outside the organization and get a DC with fresh eyes ,ideas and concepts.

New DC and he needs to be allowed to bring in his position coaches. Get rid of cornballs like Joey Porter.

Unleashing of Hell?? Lmfao. You’ll see it at the end of the year when Tomlin has that year end meeting with Colbert.

If we're going to miss the playoffs, I hope we miss them by a mile - like 6-10 bad. Hopefully that'll be bad enough to get rid of some dead weight on the coaching staff and bring in someone who really knows defense - and also grab a decent spot int he draft.

How come the beginning of EVERY (lately) season there is all this doom and gloom? We all know the Steelers are notoriously slow starters. I honestly believe they use the preseason strictly for evaluation and not 1st game(s)prep. I can’t jump on the negative band wagon, not going to beat my chest saying I told you so. “F” that, Iam this in for the long Hall. They will pick up their game and be in contention again. O-I-I is not out of it. Nobody else has everything locked in, hell they could be peaking out the gate, for all anyone knows. Get positive and think that we can only get better and screw the fire, replace, burn down the facilities mantra. Have at me,

Because the D was just as awful/erratic much of last season and it ended getting embarrassed by Jax. Guys run wide open. Tackles missed. Official's laundry all over the field. We look like a team of misfits out there.
