I'd seen this. Also, Burnett not on the injury report which means that Edmunds is starting ahead of him. It might be a temporary thing while Burnett gets back into shape after missing the pre-season but we will see.

Yes either way, I predict it's permanently by the years end.

Burnett was solid in GB... I hope it's a case of "Edmunds is the real deal" as opposed to "Burnett has fallen off".

So I guess you'll be picking PIT@CLE in week one of MNFE to secure this bonus:

            Steelers Bonuses:

25 points – If Terrell Edmunds has his first INT or Forced Fumble whichever comes first (+ 25 if it’s a Pick 6)
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Me too. Edmonds looked good in the last preseason game he played.

I like it. Put your younger playmakers on the field as long as they are mentally prepared.

Burnett is now kinda an expensive backup, right?

Burnett could easily be on the field for 60%+ of the plays...if the Steelers use 6 DBs, it would be him at dimebacker and Hilton at nickel...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Burnett is still listed as the starting SS on the official team site depth chart.

Could this report mean that we plan to start the game this weekend in a big nickel 3 safety package with Davis, Burnett, and Edmunds all on the field at the same time?

Who was the last ROOKIE to start at a safety position? Carnell Lake in 1989? WOW!

This could all mean the team is ready to move DAVIS to the bench at FS as Burnett gets up to speed with the calls from the backfield??

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here.

He's starting because of injury (I don't remember if that was the case for Lake in '89). <-- Edit: Just read that Burnett isn't on the injury report. Anyone know if he's still hurt? Maybe this is better than I thought.

Edmunds looked good in game 4 of the pre-season, which is traditionally the least important game of the PS. He didn't look great playing against starters in the GB game (but no one did).

I'm not sure which player we get on Sunday, but I'd imagine that he'll be targeted a bunch to see what he can do. My guess is that he makes a few mistakes (hopefully not huge ones), but throwing at a guy with his athleticism can be dangerous. I'm hoping for an early pick to try to reduce the incentive to test him.
