This isn't about him being surprised that the pick looks good in practice.

It's about a coach openly going to bat for a guy the team just hitched their wagon to. It's about going into the bunker with the team and saying who cares what they say out there, in here we believe in our guys.

I think it's a move to motivate and build confidence in the guy they want to be the leader of their team. That's smart coaching IMO.

I just think that a head coach saying "to see him out here throwing the ball naturally and very accurately, I thought that was a big plus" sounded odd.

Throwing the ball accurately in practice shouldn't be "a big plus" especially for a first round draft pick.

I think that throwing the ball accurately in practice should be the bare minimum requirement fror any QB...it should be completely expected even if you are talking about some long-shot undrafted rookie QB intended to be little more than a camp arm.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I think it's the off season and the typical click bait article.

            You're right, it should be.

I think Hairbag said what he did in response to the folks who were saying that Jackson isn't an accurate thrower, and at the same time, as Blitz said, to communicate to his team that he believes in his rookie's passing abilities.

I think Hairball's comments are less about complimenting Jackson and more about lighting a fire under Flacco's backside. Competition brings out the best in athletes.

I think the Ravens regret paying Flacco a ton of money. He has been trash since he signed that big contract. Also, I heard Flacco was lazy and doesn’t work on his game like Ben used to do when he first got here and had early success.

Ben eventually realized things were going south in the locker room and changed his ways.

I dont think Flacco has ever made a change and win Ozzie leaving this is his last move on the chess board.

Competition? The job belongs to Jackson next year. There is no more competition. All there is , is a lamb duck QB in Flacco. And he knows it.

Just like Smith knew he was a lamb duck QB last year with the drafting of Mahommes.

                    Next year, probably.

They still have a this year to play. I don't think they want to just throw in the towel this year.

He's only 33 years old. If he wants another starting QB contract, he's going to have to show something.

Only? That's not young for a QB who isn't playing good football. He will still get picked up by some terrible team but I think it may be over.

Dude sounds like a guy who played the odds and won and doesn't really care anymore.

He didn't have much to begin with. LOL. He was always a bum; even at his highest point. One of the most overrated QB's in NFL history.

Good enough to cause us pain over many years, beat NE** in the playoffs, and to be a SB-winning QB (MVP?).

Trent Dilfer won too with a monster Ravens defense. Ravens had that defense to keep them around against us and the Pats and Flacco game managed. And they got really effective against us when they started that illegal chop blocking of our D-lineman that the league allowed for a long time.

Flacco at best was a game manager. And by and large, we've made Flacco our chew toy for a lot of his career. I wish he'd be their QB for another decade. All the timely picks he's thrown us in key games. Only Dalton has been made more of our women then Flacco.

And because he was at the right place, right time when he won that Super Bowl, he got grossly overpaid as the highest paid game manager ever! I cheered when the Raven stupidly ponied up all that money to him. Because I knew we'd never see him (them ) again. And I was spot on.

You only pay franchise QB money to a franchise QB. Those are QB's that can carry the offense by themselves.
