Wasted pick IMO. Dude better be a beast or it’s a wasted pick with 2 QB’s already holding clipboards.

Unless Ben is done after this year I just don’t see what makes him so special we had to have him instead of waiting another year or 2.

We were 13-3 last year so the more I think about it we didn’t need 4 or 5 starters this year but it would’ve been nice to see another LB selected but hopefully we trim the day and add more depth before the season starts.

washington looks like a beast. Sticky hands.

Rudolph, not a fan of this pick but at least we drafted him in the 3rd... I would prefer DL or LB with this pick.

Okarafor... hmm.. if he pans out it’s great but not really a fan of this pick. I wish we went DL or LB with this pick.

      Allen.. wtf. Another safety? Ok.

      Samuels.. hmm. Interesting.

Frazier.. whatever. Hope he surprises but I doubt it.

      I give them a C+
No LB was as good as Rudolph in Round 3. You don't take talent you have rated lower to grab a position. That is how you end up cutting a 3rd Round pick after a couple of years

Steelers, Baby!!!!!
I agree and I'm the same way. Not out of homerism as much as I am not so arrogant as to believe that sitting on my couch that I can possibly know more about what the Steelers need to do than the people whose job it is to scour hours of film, to meet these men, to huddle with coaches and see how each player either fits or doesn't fit within the scheme that the team is planning on running. I'm sure that they often decline to choose a player for reasons that we will never be made privy to.

Sometimes I might be right, and see where my idea would have been better, but I would rather sit back and see how their plan unfolds than to jump up and down and tell everybody whether I believe they were right or wrong.

Except when it comes to the Browns. I already know that 99% of what they do is wrong before they even do it.

We don’t know that for sure. We won’t know it until they take the field.

Now I can accept that they truly believe none of each were better but as we have seen, scouts miss all the time.

Is any team really going to draft a lower rated player over a higher rated player just in case their scouts miss?
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

We call picks "reaches" for a reason.

it's not "just in case a scout misses tho" it's having a scout who sees the value in a guy that another team didn't see and hitting on it.

                  Scenario:
                  1) We have a glaring need at LB (e.g.) and a really really good player is available in the draft,

                  2) An even better player is available at WR, but we have no real need there.

Are you guys saying the FO would pretty much always say, "BPA!", and go with #2?

We would have went with scenario one if there had been a really good prospect there. There wasn't.

I guess I really didn't care about the value on the QB. To me, we were set there for at least the next year or two. Aside from a dedicated ST player, I would have wanted anything but a QB, but preferably a LB of some kind.

                        Not exactly...

I’m saying that if there were needs at both positions, I believe that the Steelers would select the higher rated player even if one need was perceived to be more dire than the other...

After the Bryant trade, wideout was a huge need. We tend to run 11 personnel (1RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) as our base package, so Washington will essentially be a starter for us along with AB and Juju.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

                                Is it HUGER than ILB?

for the record, I like the Washington pick.
