With the 28th pick; "The Experts" say the Steelers will pick...

I looked at 25 mock drafts and outside of Evens getting the majority of votes; it’s all over the board. Gives you some names to research if interested.

    Rashaan Evens, ILB, Alabama (9)
    Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville (3)
    Derrius Guice, RB, LSU (2)
    Mike Hughes, CB, UCF (2)
    Justin Reid, FS, Stanford
    Jessie Bates, S, Wake Forest
    Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville
Leighton Vander Esch, ILB, Boise St
    DJ Moore, WR, Maryland
    Malik Jefferson, OLB, Texas
    Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa
    Tremaine Edmunds, LB, VA tech
    Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama

If Evans falls to us there is little doubt in my mind that he's the pick.

I don't understand the press that Mike Hughes is getting. He is a great athlete and exciting return man, but he is far from a complete CB. I watched his whole career at UCF and I would say he is no better than a late second or early third player. If he goes in Round 1 he is getting way overdrafted

I still want LVE at #28 (if healthy), but would also be happy with Evans, Tremaine Edmunds (not happening), Justin Reid or Lamar Jackson.

I actually like HUGHES a lot.
However with ILB as pressing of an issue there's no way I could justify picking him over a position of need. Unless EVANS is gone and the LVE rumors are true.
I'd still look at someone else in that position.

Go back two years ago then I'd consider him.

Hmmm, imagine him JuJu and AB on the field at the same time?

Call me a geek, I can't wait to see how this draft unfolds!

So many options we can go, BPA ( OG,WR, TE, RB, OLB, NT) or position we think are need ( ILB, S). My bet is on 4 players in this order: LVE, Evens, Reid, Harrison.

I’m starting to get the feeling Evans won’t be around at #28 and I’m not that high on LVE. I think it will either be Reid or Alexander.

I would rather have either over LVE myself.

Guice is in play if Evans isn't there. We have to get a handle on our runningback issues. We can address ILB and safety in the following rounds.

We rarely move but idk feel we may move slightly back to get the 4 we don't have.

In Art Rooney II's spring press conference discussing where the team has room for improvement (which typically corresponds rather well with our ultimate early round picks), in addition to the obvious need for improved run defense, he also specified a need to improve our red zone efficiency.

One name who hasn't been mentioned here at all that I can remember at least, but is expected to come off the board in the late-1, early-2 region where we draft is SMU WR Courtland Sutton. He's a different style of receiver than AB, MB, or JJSS (Martavis-like height, but Juju-like strength), who has caught 31 TD passes over the last 3 seasons (49-862-9 in 2015, 76-1246-10 in 2016, and 68-1085-12 in 2017...plus another rushing TD as well). That's a heck of a red zone target. Situational player in 2018, and then a starter in 2019 in our base 3-wide set alongside AB and JJSS once MB moves on after this year.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Wouldn't have to drop more than a couple picks.
