Oddsmaker Wants No Part of Steelers in 2019 SB

Sports oddsmaker says stay away from the Steelers:

One surprise: White wants no part of the Steelers, despite Pittsburgh having the second-best odds at 8/1."This past year was the time for the Steelers to get it done and it didn't happen," White told SportsLine. "I think Big Ben continues his decline in 2018 and the defense might not be a strength anymore with Ryan Shazier's status in flux. The Steelers also haven't done much in free agency, thanks to a rough cap situation, and they're watching other potential AFC contenders get better while they stand still."

The Steelers have a difficult road schedule this season with trips to New Orleans, Denver, Baltimore and Jacksonville. At home, they face New England and Atlanta. There are much better odds than the 8/1 they're getting.

Though I pity the fool for being so stupid ...

in reality I can't prove what he says is definitively wrong.

But still, there's proving, vs. knowing, vs. believing!

Who can blame them? Last year was suppose to be our year.

IMO it all came down to Shazier, and how we do this year depends on how we compensate for his loss.

I think our window is still open ...

I'm not seeing the Ben decline that everyone seems to be imagining.

In 2017 Ben completed 64%, 28TDs, 14INT and a 7.6YPA, his career is 64%, 329TDs, 174INTs and a 7.9YPA, that's the same completion percentage, same TD to INT ratio (more or less) and similar YPA. I don't see a decline at this point.

Someone is always talking about Ben's demise, it will happen, obviously, but there's no indication it will be this year.

I think it’s due to his slow starts and his turnovers against the Jags.

Its like talking about the decline in NFL ratings. Sure, thy are down but they are still high as hell. Ben finished the year on fire. Folks are always using a slight drop in one or 2 stats as proof.

Ben is a notoriously slow starter. He tends to be his best when it matters. I'm convinced we win the SB last year with Shazier. I believe he was that important.

Shawn is spot on. And I've said so many times, right or wrong, the entire defensive concept and success was built around Shazier's athletic talent. He also had the ability to cover for others mistakes in the secondary.... and it's been documented the number fails they had,....... imagine without Shazier... ugh.

Well, if that be true, they better make sure they replace Shazier with a legit linebacker. Can't afford to miss this time Colbert.
